Around the A-10: 2024–25 Edition

Dayton blew out UConn in Hawaii last night and is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the A10 at this point. They also should have beaten UNC and Iowa State out there and would wax the floor with almost anyone in our league right now. Some programs just reload.

Go Flyers! Impressive showing out there. They definitely should have beaten unc too, led by 20. And we beat Dayton last time we played them! I know, I know different UR team now unfortunately, but let's enjoy that fact! Dayton continues to be a great team just like last year.

Agreed - glad to see Malachi Smith finally healthy - he is fun to watch.

How can that be? Don't they have a system and we all know it takes 3 years to master it?

Wow - compare their ooc schedule to ours.

Davidson pulled off a surprisingly easy win over Providence, 69-58, after leading by 20 at halftime. Bobby Durkin scored 20 points, going 4/8 from 3. Through six games, he’s averaging 17 points and shooting an impressive 52% from 3 (sigh)

SLU was really struggling until the last few minutes of the half, but woke up a bit to make the game close. Avila struggles against USF’s athleticism but is still making an impact. Jimerson pretty unimpressive so far, forgot how flat his shot is. SLU doesn’t really have much besides those 2.

SLU gets blown out - they were 10 point dogs but really didn’t look that impressive. Had a few injuries but had no depth and no offensive threats if Avila and Jimerson couldn’t produce.

For all the accolades Jimmerson Gibson has received during his time in the A10 from what I have seen it seems like he just doesn't even show up half the time. Super inconsistent.

I haven't watched him much ... but he does somehow have 1,973 points.

He is a shooter, when he is on, he can be unstoppable, but when the shots are falling, he can be a non-factor.

Responding to both of you, yeah looking back at his game logs now he can be on fire and blast you for 30 points and then a couple games later have like 3. But I guess having enough of those 20+ point games over the years to total nearly 2000 career points he is doing something right ha, granted his first game was in 2019 and in a few weeks it will be 2025

remember that SLU's bench performance in their opening game was: 31m, zero points, zero assists, 5 fouls.

If their best players don't produce, they're toast.

he'll probably set a SLU record for games played. he's at 140 and counting.

Weird post - “Effectively unblemished”. 2 teams that are undefeated - that seems to be the definition of unblemished. Then one with 2 losses and a win vs UConn. Not sure how that is close to unblemished.

I do get the sentiment that these 3 are carrying the torch for the A10 in the OOC. URI is definitely a surprise and the Providence win is a good one.

St. Joe's lost a close one to College of Charleston at home tonight. Didn't watch the whole thing, just the last minute.

URI having a battle with state rival Brown - going to double OT.

Nice win for Chris Mack and Sec9.

Not a great loss for Billy Lange. Has not done a lot at St. Joes. I do recall one of the Philly posters advising that he was the next great coach from philly.

Lange is what every Mooney supporter will point to as to keeping Mooney. But perhaps St. Joes just made a bad coaching hire and need to move on. T
hat's the thing about coaches, if one isn't getting you to where you want to be, you can just fire them and hire a new one. I know that is foreign to say about UR though, where coaches only move on when they are good and ready to and you just have to keep extending them until they say so.
