So we don't have 3 now? I just seem to remember we didn't use one last year or am I mis remembering?
Not right now. Didn’t we have even more on ship last year we had like 20 guys on roster.

I have to cheat with a spreadsheet! lolThanks, I'm a visual learner...I don't know why I have 3 in my head.
Yeah definitely had a lot.Not right now. Didn’t we have even more on ship last year we had like 20 guys on roster.
And I would have sorted by seasons left instead of position...lol.I have to cheat with a spreadsheet! lol
lol, kinda by position. And I would have sorted by seasons left instead of position...lol.
Or was that height?
Quinn has one thing going for him, height. His sky hook, over the shoulder push or whatever he wants to call it is gawd awful. It's a prayer that sometimes goes in and often times doesn't draw iron. Decent footwork but not good finishing ability. Not going to be the big man savior. Keep recruiting. Going to be a long ways back to respectability. Until changes are made maybe never.
Jaynel to me is probably are most talented guy on the roster. I think everyone can see the potential he has, as a guy who has the ability to score at all 3 levels and be our PG.. I think JayNel should not be given up on. He can play, but hit that Fr wall I think and confidence went down, which is understandable. I'm rooting for all the guys, would some of these guys do better in another "system" yeah possibly but we are in Coach's system, so they have to adapt. I'm not sure how many scholarships we have open...2? Someone can check...I would go find another shooter and 6'8ish versatile guy.
Hope? Didn’t coaches give players expectations for off season conditioning? Quinn isn’t the only one of the players who have a lot of potential but need to put in a lot of effort to reach it. Mooney has never shown any tendency to get that done.Congratulations to you and hope he does the same.
Right here. That’s it. We’ve talked about this over and over. Other than a few tweaks here and there, it’s in concrete.I'd feel much better about our guys adapting to our system if the system had an established history of winning.
I'm not so sure that I agree on this. Deion Taylor had that crazy sidewinder shot, but I think that he had head (confidence) issues as well. He played very tentative, which is often the giveaway.Deion's problems were more physical.
I think Nelson has won and been great every step of his career. most of these guys probably have been. he's hit a bump in the road. just has to get back on the bike and put in the work again this offseason. he did miss a lot of time. got to get his mojo back.
Deion seemed so stiff after the back injury. never the same athletically. I'm sure that messes with your confidence.I'm not so sure that I agree on this. Good post. Yes, I only noted that he could be a great offensive player if he can get his head right. In contrast, his defense, as you noted, needs a ton of work.I'm not so sure that I agree on this. Nelson had a few good offensive games. But, his game has significant "areas of needed improvement" if he is going to be a high level A-10 player. Based upon what we saw this year, Nelson's defense is well below major college level. He doesn't pass the ball with college point guard skill, and his ball handling was shaky at best (2.0 assist to 1.9 turnovers). I personally don't like the way that he palms the ball while dribbling, but if the officials aren't going to call it, reality is that is a minor thing.
Offensively, Nelson was 30% from 3, 36% from 2, and 72% free throws, below where the Spiders need him to be. Most often, when he tried to get to the rim his shot was blocked or he threw the ball away. He had some nightmare games to go along with his good ones.
Bottom line, he has a long way to go. Was it fair to anoint him king and raise the pre-season bar to unreasonable expectation, probably not. It is going to take a lot of improvement to get him to the point where he is a high level A-10 performer. Far more than just a bump in the road in my opinion. Can he become a top level player, maybe, will be up to him. I don't think it will be next year.
Nelson did a nice job getting back to 72% from the free throw line. He started out about 2 for 20.I'm not so sure that I agree on this. Deion Taylor had that crazy sidewinder shot, but I think that he had head (confidence) issues as well. He played very tentative, which is often the giveaway.
