2023–24 NET Ratings

LOL. My addition is a good as my grammar. Thanks.

On the NET, I'm not really getting up in arms about it. For one, it is just one of the tools the committee uses. Second, we are 6-4 against Quad 1 and Quad 2 teams right now, that will carry some weight as the committee digs down on resumes.

Lastly, it is still January, so much basketball left. The reality is we probably need to go no worse than 15-3 and probably make the A-10 finals to have a resume that will keep us on the bubble. Still a tall order, but we have now put ourselves in the conversation.

Just keep winning and the NET, our resume, will take care of itself.
I agree with much of this post but saying its just one of the tools used by the committee is true only for teams on the bubble, probably above the 35 spot, but its all the committee needs to justify teams below that number. Teams Net 25-35 are pretty much guaranteed a spot, even though many of their resumes are quesrtionable to deserve such a ranking ie. St. Mary’s every year.

That's just giving us the auto bid based on current regular season standings.

Dayton at a 3-seed is aggressive.

Actually, winning by 36 when you are an underdog, would help. We didn’t do that last time but maybe we will be motivated to next time.

Memphis lost to # 248 at home. Lets see how much they drop. This shoud be a resume wrecking loss for mid major at 55.
Rice … at home.
Rice will go ip 5 spots
Memphis will go down from 35 to 38. Lol

I’m more upset that Wichita loses at Tulsa and drops 11. They are already our worse loss. They were 7-1 after beating us, 2-11 since…

Aren't the FU announcers students? The school has a very good track record of turning out professional sports announcers and pbp guys, I thought that it was always students cutting their teeth who did the games. Maybe that's WFUV, their radio call? I thought they were more than fair to UR, loved King and were highly complimentary of Richmond's precision and approach. As they mentioned during that interminable delay, their broadcast location was on the teams' side of the court but I don't think it was courtside, so they couldn't hear the discussion. So yeah, being in the dark for 7 minutes was not great, but so were the coaches, players, fans in attendance - those refs really did a bad job on that review - so it was not just everyone watching, it was everyone, period.

Similarly, I'm unsure if they had a monitor for replays (my guess not) based on the setup of Rose Hill. Which is good for young announcers not to get addicted to just rehashing the same plays twice and constantly going to the monitor to describe action, while forcing them to call what they see and react in real time.

Nah, the TV announcers were pros...they were talking about how the analyst got called up to fill in on at least one Nets game last week. He's been a broadcaster for 20 years. Play-by-play guy has also been doing it for a decade. Both Fordham grads though. Sideline reporter was a former Fordham player who graduated a couple years ago and is working her way into the business.
