Horrendous call on 3 pt shot. Didnt touch him. With these refs you cant go near a 3 pt shooter.
F Kempom!!! Why his crap is even discussed is ridiculous. Does the committee know basketball or is all they do is rely of anywho who creates a metrics?Kenpom live updates and we didn’t move at all so far
Its totally possible.vcu will move up two spots in the NET AND we will probably fall one. 🤣
But its only a tool, not that important blah blah blah. It is the only thing keeping Spiders from being a lock.lol, the NET hates UR and that's not changing. Need at least 4 more wins.
Why would you expect a team's rating to increase if it wins by 3 at home against a lower ranked team? That is expected.F Kempom!!! Why his crap is even discussed is ridiculous. Does the committee know basketball or is all they do is rely of anywho who creates a metrics?

Well I expect a decent rating system to place a heavy emphasis on actually winning the game. Both teams were clearly playing to win at the end, not make their efficiency numbers look good. And since our odds of winning were well below 100%, why shouldn't our rating increase after getting the win?Why would you expect a team's rating to increase if it wins by 3 at home against a lower ranked team? Perfect explanation. Its madness.Well I expect a decent rating system to place a heavy emphasis on actually winning the game. Both teams were clearly playing to win at the end, not make their efficiency numbers look good. And since our odds of winning were well below 100%, why shouldn't our rating increase after getting the win?
Furthermore, I want teams selected for the tournament based on their actual records during the season, not what an imperfect algorithm thinks their record should have been based on efficiency or other metrics.
We could totally ruin basketball by just handing the championship to whichever team had the best rating according to that year's favored rating system. Maybe a lesser prize for the team that would have won it if the previous rating system was still in place. Or throw away W/L records in conference standings and just rank them by efficiency ratings.... Heard at imaginary game, "That was really stupid of him to foul at the end of game. Sure, it worked out when they missed the foul shot and we won the game on a buzzer beater, but if you do the math, on average you'll hurt your efficiency ratings with that decision. And all for what -- just a small chance to win a game? That could cost us our Ken Pom banner."
UR soars from 72 to 71.
VCU plummets from 74 to 75.
Dayton 4-4 on the road in the A10 remains at 21.
Bonne remains elite in the NET rankings at 67.
The "lots of examples" don't reside in the A10 apparently. There r lots of examples of teams making major movements in NET this late in year.
I’d feel a lot more confident if we won our last 4 by 21 each. Sign me up.

If they’ve fallen and NET is as reported above, they can do no wrong. Living off of OOC wins. Our in conference performance takes backseat to Dayton, and that sucks. The losses OOC for us seem to be real anchors for us. Screw the NET. As of today, we are deserving.Dayton sure has fallen. They may not even beat VCU in Dayton.
It is horrifically worse! But still it would be better to bring the tourny back there.I don't know how AC today compares with AC of 2010, but unless it's horrifically worse, getting the tournament back there would be awesome.
The whole thing is a F-en joke. I know it wont happen but there is a time where CM and other coaches should speak up. There are so many examples of crazy rankings. The TV guys need to start publicly discussing it. It really is silly BS at this point.UR soars from 72 to 71.

Maybe the CBS producers will advise the committee that Jordan King would be a great player to introduce to America!Hopefully the committee is tuning into a lot of actual games and not just analyzing numbers.
I know I'm biased, but watching us last night (and much of the season) we look like a tourney team. Scoring at all levels, star power, winning close games and blowouts. Definitely compared to these barely over .500 power teams we will be competing with for a spot if we don't get the auto.
Yes I know - win the A10 tourney and we won't have to worry about it.
They can do no wrong as many other teams that had high rankings early can do no wrong. And opposite is non-P6 teams can do no right. If they’ve fallen and NET is as reported above, they can do no wrong. Living off of OOC wins. A team of mostly transfers bonding and dominating. A team picked 11th that could finish first and never has before. A national POY contender. A longtime coach who overcame heart surgery. Lots of great storylines.Maybe the CBS producers will advise the committee that Jordan King would be a great player to introduce to America!
Tournament producers love a great story and King has one!
There are usually a couple of non P6 players every Tournament that go off big time and catch America’s attention.
Hope the A-10 commissioner is working her connections along with Hardt, President Hallock and any other A-10, UR leaders with the statue to make a difference
But all that might not work, just go ahead and win Brooklyn!
Go Spiders!

& Maryland right above us. Maryland? 15–14 Maryland who did nothing ooc. Gtfo.
The TV announcers stood up for us last night. Commented that both teams were deserving regardless of NET rank. They almost seemed pissed about it.The whole thing is a F-en joke. A decent ranking system does exactly what this system is *attempting* to do. Winning a 3 point game at home against an equally ranked team shouldn't move the needle much.Well I expect a decent rating system to place a heavy emphasis on actually winning the game. Don’t disagree with anything you’ve said. Moving onto other criteria not embedded in NET, can someone in the know detail a bit more of how committee uses other metrics, etc to evaluate for tourney consideration.A decent ranking system does exactly what this system is *attempting* to do. Winning a 3 point game at home against an equally ranked team shouldn't move the needle much.
The system actually gives teams that aren't able to play top 25 or top 50 teams night in and night out a chance by winning their schedule convincingly.
The premise is correct. The credit given for margin needs to be weighted less heavily. Simple as that.
Ok. Makes sense. Seems practical and logical. So we are on the outside looking in. I still think we’re going to make it - especially if we play like last night.Yes. They use whatever other information they need to justify selecting P6 teams and ignore whatever other information might prompt them to select non-P6 teams.
Guaranteed bid on winning out to the finals of the A10 tourny. 21 of 24 wins to finish the season with solid wins and road wins in there + outright A10 regular season title. We are talking as if their is an at large possibility with a run the table finish, but I have yet to see one bracketologist or analyst have us in the discussion or on the bubble. Palm obviously doesnt. Its due to the high NET of course. Sucks. Dayton a lock and 4-5 seed prediction has 3 league losses, yet no cred given to any other teams.
Are you betting Ulla's ranch on that guarantee? LolGuaranteed bid on winning out to the finals of the A10 tourny. 21 of 24 wins to finish the season with solid wins and road wins in there + outright A10 regular season title.
Absolutely. I'll even throw in my own shed. Are you betting Ulla's ranch on that guarantee? Lol
So, who gets taken to that wood shed?Absolutely. I'll even throw in my own shed.
