2018 Rule Changes

Most significant one appears to be related to the ability to fair catch a kickoff from within the 25 and have it be considered a touch back and spotted at the 25.

Evidently, the issue of redshirting but still allowing a player to play in up to four games has not been addressed. This rule change has huge backing from coaches at FBS and FCS levels.

Correction- we hope the other team fair catches the ball within the 25, so they only start at the 25. We usually let them get to the 35+ before we stop them.

Haha. Goes both ways. Since it felt like we rarely got past the 15 let alone 20, we’re at least picking up some yardage. Other teams likely won’t give up 10 yards but maybe this is the first step towards always starting at the 25.
