Ten commandments in Louisiana schools

I think we've found the most out of touch governor in the country. Has this guy ever read the Constitution or spoken with an attorney other than his own attorney general? If you don't like this in a public place "just don't look at it"?? Unbelievable.

Homecoming

Coming back to campus this year for Homecoming, first time since 2022. Looking forward to seeing the improvement to Pitt Field, to visit Phil's (The Continental now, I know), maybe have a sub at Bernie's and just "unleash hell on earth" on the unsuspecting. The Pika alumni always have a good tailgate over by the stadium and since we are back on campus we might even have a lodge to visit.

DeGennaro and Trusler First Team Preseason All-American

Nice honor for Nick. Big expectations for this season after last year's performance.

Jack D'Entremont - Grad Transfer Commit

6'7" forward out of W&L, 2-time all-ODAC with 1,098 career points. Averaged 15 and 9 last season.

Doesn't explicitly say, but he's clearly walking on.

Observations

I have been to 2 practices and will share my observations to date. Generally i am pleased. Mikel, Dlo and Mike are where we expect, go to leaders, was particularly pleased to see Dlo take ownership at one point. a transfer, I think AP made a mental error Dlo went right to him and in his face making it clear what was wrong, then passed him the ball on the next set. B artis and AP flip flopped shooting the 2 times I saw. 1st B Artis could not miss, second practice it was AP, both shot well in other practice. Beagle and big Mike look like 2 men fighting one another, Beagle can hit shots too. Jaylen is a hoss, don't plan on pushing him around, strong to the basket and can finish. GWIII came in over weight, which I am told Mich had him beef up for Big10, he looked slow. He is losing weight, in fact looked like different person by 2nd practice and was much improved. Soulis and Roach at practices, still not seem to be going 100%. McGlothin quick and agile, can shoot and will help us. Perhaps biggest surprise Jack D'Entremont, he may be coming from D3, but he is a smart player, not only can he shoot, but can play D and gets the ball to his teammates.

2024 Richmond Spiders Football - Spider Gang Intro

awful glad to be back for another season of Richmond football...its hard to believe, but this will be the 15th season of the Spider Gang...we were all a lot younger back then!

it sure looks like Coach Huesman and his staff have gotten the program to its strongest level since the Rocco years...a third straight trip to the FCS Playoffs would match the 2014-2016 run!

with our returning talent and experience on both sides of the ball and another crazy, but favorable CAA schedule we should make a solid run to defend our Championship and earn that Playoff trip

its a long journey to December. but one in which I hope we can all enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship of Spiders football!

keep an eye peeled for the Preseason Opponents Countdown which will begin shortly with the Virginia Cavaliers!

Go Spiders!

Increased Scholarship Limit approved for FBall(and other sports)

Present day FBS/BCS scholarship rosters will be allowed to increase from 85 to 105 next season.

20 x 130 teams = 2,600 extra scholarships

Lots of bench sitters will find their way to the portal.

Gipe gets around

Nice JOC piece interviewing Gipe about the emphasis on international recruiting and how it's only going to grow with international guys able to make decent money with NIL here now. (I know there have been some limitations on international guys and NIL due to visa issues, but there are always workarounds.)

Gipe was in Istanbul earlier this month for the FIBA U17 World Cup to do some recruiting. I know one of our 2025 targets, Tyler Kropp, was playing well there. Not sure who else we're looking at.
