2024 Presidential Election

The people who voted in the election sent a clear message. It is easy for anyone to be a keyboard warrior but Americans prefer the Republican party. The vote was decisive 312 electoral votes to 226 and the latest popular vote Trump 74.8 million to 71.3. The Senate 53 to 46 with one race not called and the House 214 to 203 with 18 still undecided. It is a free country and one can think anyway they wish. Nitpicking and ad-hominen attacks will not change the above facts. The Democrats' strategy was not effective. Admitting that and attempting to figure out why will go a lot further than demeaning Republicans and those who voted diffently than you did.

Per game +/- is available through the live stats feed that the @SpiderMBB account tweets before every game. I've found that they're only viewable on a computer, when I look at them on my app it doesn't show +/- for some reason. Here's the link for Marist, click on the "Home Stats" tab:

TY. +/- via live stats on PC is only place I've seen it too. i didn't realize u were still getting it there. That link will now self destruct as soon as Richmond bball staffers read this thread lol. maybe we should delete this instead! Interesting anlaytics there too. It rates Tanner and Graham (only 2 mins played) as worst defenders. Their stop %, the rate of defensive possessions where the opposing team did not score, were both 0.

Are the per game +/- publicly available on EvanMiya?

The over reliance on small guards is hard to overcome. 1 is fine when you have a shot maker like KA, King, even Gilly when he wanted. But Hunt to me is not a shot maker in same vein, he's a nice player he can drive but he's maybe your 3rd option on good team. I did think Mooney made a couple good points postgame. One was Hunt has too many other responsbilities to also put the bulk of scoring on him. His other was basically calling out AP tech as unacceptable.

too hard to distract shooters, other team shoots with confidence or we get the flying dutchman out of position stuff, & too hard to create your own shot unless elite. I like Tyne, he's not there yet and as said above, it was not his best game. And if u r going to go small, u better have stronger defenders on wing to supplement and that has been a concern of many of us whether we do.

I'm not drawing a straight line from this...I think spider23 has alluded to it...but we've sucked since we went victory lap with the net cutting.

Lastly AP technical. Yes, it was terrible timing and you can't do it at that point in the game. BUT, I love the emotion he showed not just on the play but other plays. It was cocky, it was demonstrative, it was emotive love that. He just need to be a tad bit more discretionary in how he employs it. Every team needs a guy who plays with an edge and maybe AP is that guy for us.

I hope Mooney's doesn't go overboard with how disappointed he was in the play that he tames that spirit. His comments in post game were really blunt, way more blunt than Mooney ever is in talking about a player performance.
there's no sugar coating it. it was one of the stupider things I've seen on a court.

he made a nice play and then totally offset it with a lack of self control. more than offset it. I expect a guy to make plays. I can't have you on the floor if when you make a play you ruin it with a taunting technical.

I like the look of his game. I like that he's excited out there. he hasn't played much. but technicals that cost the team can't be tolerated. i like how Mooney handled it. I don't think we'll see it again.

The numbers agree with this take too - Tyne was a team worst -18 in his 20 minutes on Saturday, while B. Artis was a team best +6 (tied with AP) in his 26. I know +/- isn't all encompassing, but other metric sites like EvanMiya also have low grades on Tyne. One game definitely doesn't represent a trend, but something to keep an eye on.

I really like what B. Artis gave on Friday night, he was impressive and it showed that this is 5th year playing college ball. I don't know if I have ever said that about a Mooney player but can Tyne be a just a bit less aggressive. Their is a fine line between playing aggressive and playing out of control and recklessly. Tyne pushes that line too much.

Yep again similar in my mind as Grant's mental error with the T after a drunk at Drake game which was key to our meltdown. Tangent - that was the night I met Greg Beckwith as we were both upgraded and chatted with him for the full but short flight to Detroit. RIP.

I'm still not sure Tyne is the ideal guard to start with Hunt. It was nice to see him make a couple 3s, but overall he went 2-8 with 3 turnovers and only 1 assist. White showed a few positives and did not have a turnover in 26 minutes. Hopefully, we will see more scoring from him as he gets more comfortable. I think he and Hunt would be our best 2 starters, with Tyne providing some good energy off the bench.

My top athletic facility upgrade priority right now is get baseball better grand stands and lights. Building a small club house in between the stands and indoor hitting facility could be nice too. An indoor practice facility for our sports teams like football and lacrosse would be great for the recruiting pitch mainly, but I don’t know how much functional utility it’ll have that’s worth the cost and space it’ll take up. It’s currently 73 and sunny in Richmond right now in November. We aren’t battling tough weather conditions like other programs. I’m not saying we should never get one at some point, but I think there are other projects that can give us more bang for our buck.

I'm a big Walz fan but it was clear to me at least on Friday night that Beagle (who didn't have a good game either) is the type of center that Mooney needs to run his offense. And if the other team does not have a center who plays out of the low post, than Walz's time is also going to have to be limited. The guy lit his has @ss up from 3 over and over again and Mooney just let it happen and than brought Walz back to let it happen some more. Mooney is some type like a gift for opposing coaches to not make the damn obvious adjustment when a player gets hot. The Marist coach had to be like surely their not going to be leave my boy open at the top of the arc again are they. Exactly why other coaches all praise him so highly, they don't want him ever to stop coaching

That space between the Weinstein Center and Pitt Field was scoped out at one time as a potential location of a new pool should one ever come to fruition.

It is roughly 275 feet between the Weinstein Center gym and the edge of the parking lot at Pitt Field, so there's not enough space for a full football field oriented in that direction. If you orient it in the other direction, it'll cover a huge chunk of the lot. Some schools have gotten away with smaller 70–80 yard fields in their practice facilities.

I know it's possible to elevate indoor fields, but it's pretty uncommon, particularly at that size. A lot of these have ceiling heights of 65–80 feet, so putting them on top of anything just pushes a monstrous warehouse-type building even higher.

It's been 13 years since the last campus plan, and the next one is scheduled to be unveiled in the spring, so get your suggestions in before they finalize things!

One of my fraternity brothers used to be a heavy hitter and was on some university advisory boards, etc. He had a meeting with the development office over Homecoming and was told no major new construction is planned for the foreseeable future, only the renovation of current buildings.

He did say if someone with a dedicated donation for a dedicated new building was made, all bets are off.

Mooney had way too many substitutions at his disposal and what it led to was players not getting into the flow of the game with the other players on the court. It was my observation that every time a player made a good play or two, he was off getting subbed out.

He treated this as an early season game which we should have won by 20 with his rotations and when it became apparent that we were in a dog fight, he did not adjust and go with the players who gave us the best chance to win the game.

Sad to see that Russia's state run TV station congratulated Trump and Melania by showing nude pictures of Melania. If someone in the US did that, Trump would post the responsible person's address and phone number so the death threats could begin. But Putin did it so all we get from Trump is crickets. Maybe Trump is afraid Putin will post something else if Trump reacts to this.

Golden to University of Florida - Hovde to follow?

The allegation that this includes the entire coaching staff seems like a lot of conjecture/guilt by association. I doubt the head coach is showing his d*ck pick posts with his coaching staff and having laughs about it. But then again, if you know anything about Urban Meyer's coaching tenure at UF and the level of shit he and his players got away with, maybe it isn't.
