2024–25 schedule

If our athletic department can't get us good OOC and can't hype our product, why would any outsider/TV network be inclined to buy into us. VCU is constantly hyping (or in business terms, "marketing") their program and we see the evidence of that success. Meanwhile, the only thing our AD has said about our program in the past 6 months is a whine fest about how hard it is to schedule.

Pretty clear from the TV schedule we are not even remotely interesting program/product to put on TV. Everyone in our marketing department should be working to change that, not sharing side eye meme's on social media. We should be doing a presser today saying the defending A-10 champs being shut out of prime time TV games is something we take personally. I'm at least glad Delonnie is on board with that message. Shouldn't be the players though, should be Hardt and Mooney saying that in public.

The first thing I see is you have 5 playing E. But, why do u need both numbers and letters there anyway? Just using numbers would have been fine, and had you done that, it would have been easier to see you had 5 playing 5.

& he's got team 2 or is it team B (?? lol I agree a little confusing) playing 4 teams. Also team 4 is listed twice but i assume the first team 4 is meant to be 3.

It can't be done. not in 3 days or repeating games. Our two biggest data guys SF and fan2011 have already spoken on this. Lock it.

But that's ok urfan1 you are still the 1...or 1A

Joe Lunardi just got a raise from U of R hoops to analyze and check all our work.

2024–25 schedule

Imagine each game has 2 "slots", 1 for the home team and 1 for the away team. For 5 teams to play 3 games each we would need 15 "slots", which mean 7.5 games. Not really possible. Some team would have to play 2 or 4 games to make the total "slots" even.

split all 5 teams into individual players and then conduct a fantasy draft to make 4 teams and then have the tournament 😁

Football to Patriot League. Should basketball and rest of sports be concerned?

I have two mindsets with this.

First, if teams do get poached by the Big East, I think the A10 is certainly in a stable place with 12-14 teams. With UMass leaving and Temple and Charlotte who left many years ago, every school in the A10 will be basketball centric and not have football heavily influencing decisions. As far as basketball centric conferences go, the A10 is the 2nd best option in the country besides Big East and the Big East won't poach too many teams from the A10 so even if a few leave, for everyone else that remains this is the best option as far as conferences go.

Secondly and more importantly is that I want us to have the mindset that we belong in the Big East and should have a goal to be one of those teams that gets poached. I am not saying that right now our resume is eye-popping and that we are a must-have for them. However, we are a great, small, private academically elite school in similar geographic footprint with the conference. We fit the identity of what the Big East seeks in schools. In terms of basketball pedigree, we definitely need to improve our success in that regard, but we are a solid program that invests a lot in basketball and has good results. We need to take the next step and get towards Dayton/VCU level of success. Remember, we were considered in 2013 originally. I am well aware that there is still a ways to go for this. Regardless of whether we should be in the Big East now or not, I believe that having the mindset to strive towards being one of those teams that moves up to the Big East is something I hope we aspire to. I agree with some posts above, that we shouldn't just wait around and hope things work out. Let's be the creators of our destiny.

realignment is based primarily on tv deals and media interest, all you have to do is look at how many of those Friday Night A10 games we have been a part of over the past few seasons to tell you where we would stand on the Big East's radar.

Put each team in a "hat" 4xs, start with team 1 and random draw until you get 3 different teams to play, repeat until all have 3 different opponents to play. Not a true tourney but each team gets 3 games. If you wanted could do wins and margins of victory to choose the champion.

When do tickets go on sale - now that the OOC has been sent, or do we generally wait for the A10 slate as well before giving away single game tickets?

Single-game tickets and mini-plans go on sale in October.

Who was saying we need to release the ooc schedule for ticket sales?

It may be a factor some places but it’s really not at Richmond.

Or maybe the ticket office threw up their hands after the schedule came out & was like screw that nothing gonna work.

Again, we can't play 3 games in a 5-team MTE. It either needs to drop to 2 games or they need to get it to an even number of teams for the math to work.

If the Mount Olive game were to be made exhibition, we would have to move the date. Those games have to occur before the first allowable regular season date (11/4).

Who was Gonsaga and why is basketball a priority in your thinking? If an A-10 team started getting the recruits they seem to be able to haul in, and become a national power would the results be the same?
I don’t think of them as the Notre Dame of basketball. Today, maybe, tomorrow maybe not.
You're correct. They are far better at basketball than Notre Dame is at football.
