2024–25 schedule

My thoughts are with folks in Florida awaiting the arrival of Milton .. but also wondering if this could give the Gulf Coast classic organizers a good excuse to cancel given that the storm may come ashore very close to Naples and since there appears to be no progress on the final 3 teams of the MTE.
I had this same thought. Seems like there could be a schedule reduction in the making.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Burton leaving was a win-win. As far as JOC and the disloyal outcast classification, I think that is an exaggeration no question. There are of course a few people that may have felt slighted, but there is no way the majority is going to fault a UR graduate for going with his best monetary option. What would have been extremely surprising is if Burton WASN’T welcomed back with open arms.

He seemed to drop off the radar, so glad to hear he is on the road to recovery and is spending time at his alma mater. Having former players back is always a good thing and it sounds like he is doing some good with some middle schoolers as well. Got to like it when a player gives back.

Good luck Tyler.

RIP Buster

Saddened to hear this. Buster was a friendly all around fun person to know. Looked forward to having the opportunity to see and talk with him. He and Walker put Spider football on the map. The Tangerine 68 Bowl win was a high point, some might say, the highest point of Spider football history. Glad I had the privilege of knowing him. His was a life well lived. Prayers for his family and all who miss him.

M&W Tennis

I saw that we had the River City Tennis tournament at UR this past weekend and was curious and looked up VCU’s tennis roster. They only have 4 players listed on there. Is this right? I’m sure there were a lot of transfers leaving after their coach left after last season, but I would think they would’ve replaced them with incoming transfers or recruits. If so, would they have to forfeit courts 5 and 6 in order to compete? Could mean A10 tournament is open for other teams to win for the first time in awhile.

Whereas Noyes seemed to be in "run the offense" mode when he started last year and overthinking what he was supposed to do every play, rather than just playing loose.
Great point. Noyes fell into this trap and we've had other players fall into as well and when they do it never ends well for them. You have to wanna make plays when you are in the game, if you are playing just to run the offense or to make a mistake, you are going to end up like Noyes did on the bench.

I would give JOC the benefit of the doubt here. Sure, most of us on here were more than okay with Tyler's decision, but how many people is that who shared this opinion? Maybe 10-15 of us on here at the most? It's not like we have a huge message board here. So, it is very possible that JOC heard from several people whose opinion differed from ours. There will always be people out there who get on guys for transferring or leaving school early. I'm not sure it's fair to get on JOC and say "no one feels that way about TB". How would you know that?
Fair point. No one feels that way was probably hyperbole. But as Brooklyn said, given the transfer portal, NIL landscape, it you are gonna hold grudges, well be prepared to hold a lot of them. Plus TB graduated, gave us 4 years on the team. He literally fulfilled every responsibility when he committed, which is a rarity these days.

2024 Presidential Election

Keep in mind the EVs don’t build themselves.
Oh yes and then there is Woodward’s new book about Orangeman’s ongoing relationship with Comrade Vladimir.

And then there is the felon himself….

Burning through fact checkers
Most EVs will be made in China. All of the components, including batteries, will be made in China. We could dominate this sector, but environmental rules instituted by Biden prohibit it. This will cost Union votes in Michigan.

2024 Presidential Election

Sure, you can choose any car you want as long as it's an EV.

Here’s the policy background: The Environmental Protection Agency’s new greenhouse gas emissions rules require that battery-powered and plug-in hybrid vehicles make up 32% of auto maker sales in 2027. By 2032 no more than 29% of new cars can be gas-powered. Ergo, there will be only one gas-powered model for every two electric cars on dealer lots.
