Not always the smallest. What if Duke already had 13 scholarship players but unlimited NIL, So…

14th player is a walkon named Zion who gets $900k in NIL.

Thinking some guys may have had a clause in their NIL contract to only play defense on certain days of the week. Apparently this scrimmage took part on the wrong day, may need to stagger next season.

So busy in existing threads didn’t see this one until now.

But if from OSU then NBA then ECU I would feel better about 10 of 12…

I’m still expecting them to grandfather in existing walkons. Imagine u r a 3 year walk on about to graduate the following year. Now u can’t be on team? Seems unduly harsh. But idk I think have seen a couple tweets from athletes from smaller sports saying they r in market for new school due to roster limits. If there is no grandfathering in I will not be surprised if Kirby Mooney gets a ship.

Brooklyn, yes I noticed that too on the 2P % for ECU. That is very concerning. Between the score and that stat, that is not helping with my concerns on defense. Absolutely cannot expect to shoot that well most games. Defense carries, but shooting not necessarily.

I only predicted starters ... not minutes.

if they shot 75% from 2, that to me indicates they made a lot of layups/dunks/shots at the rim. No one shoots 75% on high mid range volume. So either we allowed a lot of dribble penetration, didn't protect the rim at all, or both. Both of those begin with 1v1 defending on the perimeter.

not that preseason ranking mean much but Torvik has ECU #128 and Blue Ribbon has them 5th in the AAC.
not a power but they're not a pushover either. on the bright side, we lit up a solid team. I bet they're concerned about their defense now too.

He admitted he hasn't been into it for awhile now. He hasn't done much recruiting at all. He hasn't even talked with the 2026 recruits because he knew he wouldn't be around for them. Just a terrible look for him IMO. He should have taken a week or two after the season and either decided to be all in this year or retire then. What happens now when lineups get juked around? Players' minutes change? He might have thought all the players would be "okay" with his decision, but no chance. There will likely be multiple times this year where some guys think about their coach quitting on them. Will they all respond with fire and 100% committment? I doubt it. How ridiculous for Bennett to think this was the right way to do this and all would be okay.
