1) Roche may be one dimensional, but we need that dimension. he's got to get shots. we need shooting.
2) we put the ball in the center's hand a ton. Walz and Beagle are pretty good passers, but have both too many turnovers and missed opportunities. reminds me just how good at passing Quinn and Golden were.
3) tough to judge our defense. numbers look good but felt like we should have been down a ton at the half if Maine could shoot a lick.
4) like that we shook things up with the lineup. not sure it helped much other than Roche.

One thing I saw with our defense was overhelping on weakside D, which always left an open shooter. Fortunately, we played Maine and they missed a ton of open 3's, that won't be the case most games. We did this a few years ago and I thought Boyden got us out of this terrible habit but it is back.
Defense has been super disappointing. Thought we saw great improvement last two years with Boyden, but despite what any metrics say - eye test is beat off dribble constantly and open shots. Obviously the defensive talent is downgraded big time at forward spots, but would have hoped the philosophy and seemingly re-emphasis would carry over.

Other observation is that having Walz play up top as our center is not working. He is no threat up there the defense can play off of him and it gums up our whole flow on offense.

We won which is good but if we played anyone other than a team of Maine's caliber last night, it is a loss and probably not even a close loss.

I hate our players as much as Mooney. Except for Roche. I'm submitting the game tape to the gaming commission, I think Tyne bet on Maine. Fouls 3 point shooter. Bricks free throw. Next time I need to find out which side he took.
Oh, and we had a defensive rebound secured and he somehow fouled. Had the perfect middle set up with this one. But wow, we have guys not looking good. Still holding out hope we will find some cohesiveness. But look up and see our portal target Matt Knowling - a guy that can do multiple things on the court - had 12 points 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Really could use a super solid guy like that on the wing.

Want to see Tanner be more aggressive on the court. I think he has the talent, he needs to go into eff Mooney mode like the successful players we have had. See TJ Cline inbounds plays.

glad to put one in the win column despite how difficult we made it on ourselves nearly every step of the way and really excited to see a Roche game like this after many of us felt like it seemed as if he was starting to fall out of the rotation. D-Lo struggled from the field but was able to salvage that at the line which was good. Let's see if we can build on it and start playing better but unfortunately the next game won't show us anything and we will have to wait until LA Tech

The Trump Administration

People die in wars. People are maimed in wars. Lives are ruined by wars.

One thing the leaders of our armed forces should be interested in is finding ways not to fight wars, instead of seeking out bad ones (Vietnam, Iraq) every generation or so.

Vaccines save lives. Vaccines eradicate diseases. fluoridated water systems help reduce tooth decay and cavities. Vaccines are good things. By all means let's have a top government official working against the use of vaccines and fluoridated water.

This cabinet would be a very bad joke, if it wasn't real and if it didn't endanger the lives of US citizens.
I agree with much of what you said, except for your hyperbole. I disagree. On the international stage, failure to lead and appeasement cost more lives. Millions have already died in Ukraine, millions died from COVID, there were deaths from the withdrawal from Afghanistan, more deaths occurred in Gaza.

The difference is that Joe Biden would not course correct. Trump can crush Russia, Iran and he can dent China, by pumping more oil, sanctions enforcement and tariffs.

Didn't watch any of the game, but after seeing the final score I opened this thread hoping we could at least be happy about finally winning. How foolish of me.
“Didn’t watch the game but…” is precisely what has destroyed sports media over the past 15 years. How can you form an opinion on how the defense looked if you didn’t watch the defense!
