2024 Richmond Spiders Football - Opponents Countdown - NC A&T

Petersburg's Jamar Hodges answered pass-rush call for beat-up Spiders
Glad he stepped up and was ready. Huesman just said on radio show only Thaos Figaro will be coming back, he is week to week and will not play this week. The other injured DEs will not return.

He did not but that’s not a question I’d expect to ask a student. Particularly since we don’t ask our coaches or AD any difficult questions. It does seem like he’s firmly QB1 at this point.

thanks. normally u might not ask that of student athlete and I agree we rarely if ever ask coaches or AD difficult questions. In this case however there was a public RTD article on Monday b4 interview about the topic and plan. where Huesman said it was intention to redshirt Coleman when season began, they talked about it during UVA game, Coleman has 1 more game now to go, & have to decide rest of year. So it seemed like it was all out there anyway, and thus more discussion worthy.

Spiders Collective-Season Preview-Oct 4

Very interesting comments. I will try and discuss some of them. The purpose of the Collective is to raise funds in the new world of college basketball. As of now, it's being run by a handful of volunteers/board members. It is separate from the school, so having an event would require The Collective paying expenses. Having an event in the Robins Center would not require the staff for a normal game, but it wouldn't be free either.

we probably got a little bit of a late start in planning. The pre-season schedule is jammed with 2 scrimmages, fall break and a cap # of practices. We could have gone 2 ways... use the Robins Center or come up w/ an alternative. We chose the "Season Preview" event. It is something different, and we will see if it works. I believe it will. Who knows, maybe next year, if the rules allow it, we can have an Exhibition against a school and split the gate for the benefit of each schools NIL. That is not allowed now.

What does one get for their admission? A different setting to see the college team they root for in a different manner. A small snippet of what a typical Richmond practice entails (and for those who never watched one, they may find it interesting) A chance to meet, the Spiders, including the 7 new players on the team. A Spider Collective Tumbler (that is for Spider17).Intrasquad Scrimmage (there will be officials) . Reception afterward....

I believe people that bought the tickets for the event are Spider fans and understand the NIL is here to say and want to contribute a reasonable fee that supports the cause. I hope the people on the board who have bought tickets will give an honest assessment of the event, we certainly appreciate your support.
Looking forward to tomorrow night .. love the idea of the event.

Never Forget: those killed or hurt by Illegal Immigrants

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The last of three suspects charged in the death of a Memphis pastor pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder.

Eduard Rodgriguez-Tabora pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Dr. Autura Eason-Williams, a Memphis pastor who was killed in her own driveway during a carjacking in 2022.

Tabora will have to serve 20 years in prison.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said that his information has been turned over to Immigration and Customs for deportation to his native country, Honduras.

Tabora will serve his sentence in Tennessee before being deported.

Eason-Williams was in her driveway on Whitehaven Lane when a car with two suspects pulled up, according to a statement read in court by prosecutors.
