Looks like there is a strong youth movement on the women’s team. What happened to Elaina Chapman
who was a big time recruit 3 years ago. She is on roster but has yet to play. Townsend and Boone are talented,
quick guards.

Roussell getting his players in place means some of the holdovers will find themselves with smaller roles.

I watched some of the opener against Charlotte...Spiders were scratching and clawing to hang with the Niners for a half, but the third quarter was just a disaster. Disappointing way to start the season, so I'm glad to see they bounced back big time against Hampton.

Chapman is still on the roster. She must have an injury or something. Not sure.

Townsend can play. Budnik is one of the best all around players they've had in years. They have depth as long as they can stay healthy.

Good to beat uva in any sport anytime, that's an ACC school and we don't get too many of those scalps. Third year for Roussell, should see some significant steps forward. They've gotten killed by some mediocre teams so far, but hopefully that won't continue. But if it does, you can be sure that Hardt won't give a damn.

Congrats to the Women's team. Any ACC road win is huge. That said, this is same UVA team that just quit on the season last year because Covid was too hard for them. That speaks volumes on the culture and leadership of that program.

But Roussell appears to have the women's program trending upward vs. the constant quicksand the men's team finds itself in.

Things at UVA started to slip a bit under Boyle, though obviously it was hard to follow a legend like Debbie Ryan. But they've completely fallen apart under Thompson.

Having a coach that is a quitter is never a good look. I'm sure she still collected her paycheck last year after they decided to bag the season though. She's probably will get fired once the Covid excuse is behind them because UVA actually cares about winning * (*Does not apply for Football).

Been another up and down season for the women's team so far, but they are absolutely shellacking W&M right now...78–44 with five minutes to go. Five Spiders in double figures, and they've bombed a baker's dozen threes.

Great shooting. Offense is clicking. Little concerned about defense but we'll see how it goes.

Nice to see the winning streak, and I do think Roussell is a good coach, but they've mostly beaten garbage teams during this stretch and overall during this season as a whole, so I'll reserve judgment until they finish in the top 3 or 4 of the A-10.

Absolutely…all 200+ NET teams. They are not a top-tier A-10 team yet, but he certainly seems to have them headed in the right direction. He’s still implementing his system and you can see them getting better and better at it.

He has two years of his recruits and they are certainly at a higher level
than Shafers. He now has a good inside out offense where the team is
shooting much better from 3 and has ability to score in paint. Boone and
Townsend are very quick guards and he has plenty of height. I also think
he has taken some of Shafers recruits and made them better like Emma Squires,
Claire Holt and Katie K. He definitely has this team headed in the right direction
and looks like a great hire.

One of the players for Coppin State played with a mask on last night. They also only had 8 players.
New Covid policy?

Yes, but not so far this year. NET of 218...5–0 in Q4 games, 0–8 in all other games. They weren't good last year either.

Whew...Spiders led by 7 with two and a half to play, but GW came back and tied it up with 16 seconds left.

Spiders had the ball for the final shot, and Klimkiewicz drained a three at the buzzer to win it. Spiders improve to 11–4, 2–0.

Amazing. That Rousol had to completely rebuild the women's program and here they are 3 years later in much better shape then the men's program. Seriously, can we just make him the men's coach and see what happens. It couldn't be any worse than where we are right now.

They still haven't really beaten anyone good in this stretch, but unlike the guys, they are beating who is in front of them. Well done!

All good things must come to an end...Spiders had an ugly outing at Hawk Hill tonight, falling 74–54. Sloppy game all around.
