I would love to see Cayo score 1000+ points next year. It is doable for him, more power to him!!
Agreed, Nate is fine young man. Very polite with a comedic personality. He also has reinvented the UR rebound along with Tyler Burton.Cayo is definitely a fan favorite. He is a great player and an even better person.
I would agree 05 as I thought of this comparrison only because Rodman so rarely shot the ball outside the lane. Yea RodmanI've been a fan of Cayo's for years (just ask 97 ). I'm not seeing Rodman rebounding ability. Cayo picks up 12 boards per 100 possessions. Rodman averaged over 21 for his career in the NBA.
I realize you are trying to find someone who is a big man who can't shoot outside the paint as a comparison to Cayo, but comparing him to an all time great player like Rodman is probably a bit over the top. There are lots of run of the mill big guys in the NBA who can't shoot very well (well their used to be). I'll use one from my Sixer's fandom. Tyrone Hill. Good steady player, started on the Sixer's 2001 run to the Finals. Terrible looking outside shot but got a lot of workman like/hustle points and efforts. He was the 5th-or 6th option on that Sixer's team, much like Cayo is to us. Doesn't make his contributions unimportant but a Rodmanesque player, he is not.I would agree 05 as I thought of this comparrison only because Rodman so rarely shot the ball outside the lane. Yea Rodman
was a relentless rebounding machine on both ends of the court.
05 was right and I was wrong
I wasn't going to say that out loud but since you did. You also nailed Gilyard being a special player for us on the day he signed.Blind squirrel syndrome. Throw enough predictions out there and one has to come true.
97 - I do believe you were correct on Verbinskis, Schneider, Pistokache and quite a few other absolute reaches.
I am interested to see how Tomas fares at Lafayette, as it looks like he will be competing for PT with a kid I coached for a couple years in middle school.
Gilly - I was high on too - I thought his quickness and skill level was off the charts. Watching the little bit of video I have seen on Wilson, I am not seeing the elite skill level of Gilly. Much higher rated/pursued than Gilyard. Looks like a good/tough athlete but I don't see the high ceiling like you could see in KA, SDJ and Gilly highlights.
The reaches are pretty easy to spot. Just check out the level of other offers and similarly where they end up ranking in their regional/state all state teams and if they led their teams to and in the postseason. If we are signing guys with few other D-1 offers and don't make their all state/region teams at a high level, those should be two big red flags.I believe 05 comments on Gilly was that the coaching staff was really excited when he signed. No idea on the comparison excitement level for Wilson, although he did have a higher offer list than Gilly did.
I would rather Cayo score 2,000 points. This thread needs to get back on track. And it needs some controversy. With that in mind, I would like to proclaim officially that, no, I have no interest in seeing Nathan Cayo score 1,000 points.
