Quote from VCU Board by "Natty"
I (Natty) asked Joey Rodriguez what he thought about what was going on. Here's what he had to say (and gave me permission to post).
"I mean... We only have 7 losses on the year and 4 losses in Conference all against tough teams besides LaSalle at home. We are going into these last two tough games with a chance to win the conference regular season title. Really not a much better position to be in. Win or lose the grit and toughness to actually stay in the game and continue to compete is what I really took away from the game. Offensively nobody will guard us the way Richmond does.. It is just different. People can say all they want but what they do is tough to play against. I never really had success with how they guard so I really have a understanding of how it takes you away from what you run and kind of make the games into a iso fest. Once you see a big switch on you it becomes I have to get buy him or hey I have a big on the block with a small on him... let me get him the ball and 15 seconds later your out of your set trying to attack a mismatch. Do I think some people need to step there game up.. of course I do. Im sure they know they need to as well but overall I think this has been a heck of a year once again and it can still get a lot better."[/I]
