Vanderbilt

Not a stellar second half. I wish we could put two solid halves together. We still largely kept Vandy at arm's length, but would have been nice to let our subs finish out the game vs. the starters.

Nice bounce back game from Blake. Gilly with the back to back steals in the second half, stabilized what has was a very shaky second half effort.

Hey, where are the Francis bashers?
Ha, seriously. That was always going to be a short lived take. We all know Francis is a scorer, but he was slumping early on, but good money was on him reverting to form.

Although, I could take him not launching a 3 ball under 2 minutes and up 10.

Haven't been a basher because I think we need his swagger but Blake had been in a mini-slump shooting but was the Blake we need today.

And just compare his swagger and toughness to Grant and you should understand why we need him showing us how we need to play

I don't think we should overlook that we just had a double digit road win over an SEC opponent and we are complaining about our performance.

Yes, Mooney has some stuff to clean up. We get awfully content when we get a lead. That will bite us against better opposition.

But I'll take the an easy dub over an SEC squad any day of the week.

Yep, was tough to watch the big halftime lead get chipped away at, but we kept them at bay. Enjoy the win, figure out what to do better next time, and hop on the bus to Indy.

Said on radio broadcast they are actually flying to Indy, get dinner and relax for evening if I heard correctly. Practice in facility tomorrow and play the game, I would think can only help rather than bus ride.

Not a basher but I've said it before and will say it again, he can shoot you out of a game as well as into a game. Shooter gonna shoot. I remember a least 2 trips down the floor where the other 4 players each gave the ball up but when it came to Blake up went the shot. He made one, missed one.

Blake basher here. His shot selection was much better in the first half. He didn't force anything, took open shots, made them and got confidence. That is how he should play, not start out by forcing shots early in shot clock or when covered. That 3 he took when we should have been running out the clock was a perfect example, yes he was wide open but he should not be taking that shot.

That's a pretty insane turnaround. They took off 30 minutes or so after the game ended? The airport is at least 12-15 minutes from Vandy's campus. I've been to both. Did they even have time to shower?

Aren't there showers in Indy?

Impressive that the game ended at about 2:55pm ET and they made it off the court, showered, packed up, on the bus, 15 min ride to airport, on the plane, and wheels up all in about 40 minutes. That is an efficient operation.

Good effort. 2nd half letdown, but to me the game was never in question. Good to see Crabtree playing. I would still like to see more Wilson. Also, feed Cayo more in the post!

Is there highlights anywhere on UR site? My SEC network and on ESPN+ the Vandy game is blacked out.
My fellow 76ers in Richmond say the first half was the best they have seen the Spiders since earlier in 2020.
Listening to Bob call the game sounded like a good one,
