Still can't believe we were that close hurts even more seeing that. Dayton got screwed I can't believe that, no respect for the A10.

32, looks like they did give us a good look for the close away losses to decent teams.

I thought I heard earlier this week the last 4 out would be "rewarded" with 1 seeds. Did I imagine that? Did anyone else hear it?

Agree. But Dayton gets its play in game at the Dayton Arena. Only 3 A10 teams this year, but that was probably to be expected. Thought the CBS panel took the chairman of committee to task on several fronts.

Told you it was going to be really close. One more win anywhere and we are probably in. Should have been in over UCLA and Texas, IMO.

But we do get a 1 seed and three home games in the NIT, so let's win the damn thing!

So according to NCAA committee, just play hard teams and lose all you want. Doesn't matter if you get killed every night!! Texas, UCLA

Some of the explanations & justifications don't make sense, but I guess that's the case each year.

Bottom line - It certainly appears if we'd have beaten VCU, we'd probably have been in. A follow up win vs. Davidson would have most likely sealed it. So close.

I think we are potentially as good as some of the teams selected. But, we all recognize that we didn't have a really strong resume. I think the killer was two bad losses to JMU and Geo. Mason. They kept us out. A lesson for next year's team, every game counts.

I have not seen anything official that we in first 4 out.

It is official that we are a 1-seed in the NIT. It was tweeted out by ESPN, among others.

Didn't see the show, but sounds like we were at least in the discussion. Sad that we blew 7+ games and just a few of them would have made the difference. But overall doesn't look A10 got much respect with DAY getting play-in game, and both VCU and DAV being sent out west. May not sound like a big deal, but jet lag can impact you.

Again wow can't believe how close we were especially with Dayton being so close to being out it seems. Just shows we need SOS to be strong that was the biggest factor it seems. No way in hell can they justify UCLA other than by their name recognition.

Wow. I'm stunned we were so close. Victory over vcu on Friday probably got us in. Feel bad for temple and Colorado state both of those teams were deserving. Home games all through the nit I really like that. We are tough to beat at home. Let's get back to nyc

Dayton plays only 5 players, Davidson can be beat by anybody, and the RPI fans will have a long drive out west in the VW vans!! It will be tough for the A-10. Ha!!

Considering where we were 3 weeks ago I think this is great. I'll be there either Tuesday or Wednesday barring any emergency.

Fat boy apparently flies to every game. What a waste of booster donations, because I'm sure as hell that he can't afford that singing and working at Chanello's.

Not a hater but IMO shouldn't have been that close to making it. UCLA, Texas, Okla St, and Indiana made it! Don't know what the committee was thinking, but if I was CM I would be doing my best to get some major 5/6 teams on the schedule for the upcoming year.

Confirmed we are #1 seed. Now let's win some games. I believe the killer to our resume, were the losses to JMU and Mason. They were terrible losses, we win those games, and we'd be in the big dance.

I have a feeling we're going to play N.C. Central or St. Francis (NY). Just a hunch. Maybe even Charleston Southern.

What do all those last 4 teams say, big schools power conferences and name recognition. Period. That's what the committee has said with their actions read between the lines. Temple got hosed.

Wr70. A free flight out west isn't worth having to look like fat boy with horns on his head to get it. :)

Committee obviously put weight on how you finish given our closeness. Saw a tweet where they justified ucla by how they finished

Yep. Big time. Colorado St did too, IMO. If you're not power 5 or Big East, you're crap (according to NCAA).

Hoping it's true, but how is #1 confirmed? Murray State. Temple, and others also getting a lot of love on TV right now...

Plus UCLA lost to UK, Okla, NC, Alabama, and the Zags but only won 2 away games all year and they conference victories against Stanford and lowly USC.

I kept telling everybody we were in the mix more than ya'll thought. Based on what the committee was leaking out, as I stated, we matched the criteria well. I didn't know THAT well but when everybody started to lose I had the feeling there was an outside chance VCU win might be good enough.

Oddly, and counter-intuitively they seemed to penalize our league. Guess they lacked what we had. Dayton got jobbed with the play in game, and Davidson idk, seems like a 9 but what's the difference (S-curve bs, blah, blah).

Btw, bad losses didn't keep us out per se, good wins had us in the mix. One more good win we get in. Northeastern might not have been good enough but maybe even that gets us there. If La Salle finished in top 100, maybe even that game ugh... Probably not, but they sent a message today that schedule was all important.

Also surprised that Spiders were last 4 out. Spiders had good wins over VCU (twice), Davidson and some near misses against Dayton, Northern Iowa. A top NIT seed is a decent alternative to missing out on the NCAAs. UR should be a tough out in the Robbins Center. Go Spiders!

I think there is way too much logic being projected on the committee.

If a team with a resume like Dayton is the last team in, we need to figure some things out in order to avoid that situation next year.
