The Giper is on this one. 6'8" F/C out of Indiana in the Louisville area. We're his first offer.

We're the only one of his three offers so far that he doesn't list among those in contact the most.

Not content with having Robbie Avila on the roster, Indiana State offered their second 2025 Spider target today in Singleton. (They also offered Brady Koehler, who we've expressed interest in. Lot of copying off our paper today.)

Hopefully, one of these guys would have been the best player they ever had, but decides to come here instead...

When travelling across the country after college, in Terre Haute, I stopped and ate at Larry Bird's restaurant. I got a picture with his brother Mark, who was managing the restaurant at the time, on first glance I thought it was Larry - very strong resemblance, but Mark was only 6'5. But apparently a very good player too.

French Lick got to be 1 of the best town names in the US. If u had to name 1 famous person and where they were from Larry Bird & French Lick maybe #1. It actually has a nice casino/golf resort. Went there. Many years ago I was working a good business deal out of them. I'd bring up in company meetings and ppl would be like stfu u just want to say French Lick. Never closed it, won't forget it.

Speaking of Eddie Bird...and Larry. My fav Larry Legend story wish i could tell u where from...but i know I read it or had it told to me. Maybe in French Lick idk, but probably the former. story is the Birds had an outdoor hoop full court at house. Larry playing pickup w brothers....then takes a basketball...a deflated ball no less...and throws it full court. Hits it. No reaction. None. Goes down picks up the ball again threw it full court again. Hits it. Back to back. This time Larry jumping all around like he won NBA title.

Eddie Bird said it was the greatest thing he ever saw Larry do.

Things have been pretty quiet with Singleton and I have no idea where we stand with him, but he just picked up a Wright State offer.

Few more fresh offers for Singleton...App State, Coastal, WKU, and Georgia State.

Offers coming in quickly for Tre...SLU, Northwestern, Eastern Michigan, and Ball State in the past few days.

Timely article on Tre... key points are:

  • Doesn't single out any specific schools that have offered, says all offers are recruiting strongly.
  • Has visited IUPUI, Valpo, Furman, and Wright State. No other visits set up but wants to set some up soon.
  • Butler, Louisville, Memphis, Loyola-Chicago, and Bradley are all showing interest but have yet to offer.

Clemson and Charlotte today, plus DePaul yesterday.

Edit: And Louisville.

And now Notre Dame and Wake.

Being first to offer only gets you so far... :)

Edit: Add Xavier and Purdue.

Singleton cut his list to eight a month ago...Clemson, Northwestern, Butler, UVA, Xavier, Lousiville, Notre Dame, and Purdue. Taking official visits to some of them now.

To be recruited to play the sport you love and have dedicated your entire cognizant life to? It's exciting, and rewarding, and relieving, and in some cases where kids come from very little means, life-changing for the kid and likely the family. So I don't begrudge them a single second of it.

Not sure if that was a genuine question or you were being snarky.

yeah, I bet it's crazy exciting to them ... and nerve racking. they have to make by far the biggest decision of their young lives.
every coach calling is really good at recruiting. they all seem like great guys. they all have big plans for you in their program.
it's an awesome problem to have of course, but it's got to be stressful too.

I can speak from our own family's experience that the process to both find a school that seems like a good fit, a coach that seems like a good fit, and teammates that seem like a good fit is extremely challenging (and expensive). Until you get that first "you've got a spot here if you want it", it is very stressful for all involved.
