Transfer Portal

Wow! Rhoades really considering leaving VCU. I think saw he makes about 1.8M and said no way he should step up. Though just researching Penn St people winning to pay 4M? I might have to advise him differently lol if gets a 5yr guaranteed contract. Guess PST has to up their game since read ND paying 4M for 7yr?.

Every major school is doing so it appears. Georgetown owing Ewing lots and still giving Cooley 6M. Can't believe such a highly rated academic institution would be concerned about the relevance of their b-ball team ;);)

Correction for my lacking of business savvy to above. Maybe just maybe Rhoades won't be making 1.8M in the near future at VCU?

Here's your transfer portal tracker as of this morning. Still lots of names we're involved with, only a few off the board. Hopefully we can see some momentum this week.

*Richards commitment should say McNeese.

Hopefully he's looking for a school just a bit smaller than GC where ~103K students attend and/or log on to at some level.
I am not referring to you but if we are serious about changing the culture of our athletic programs then it all begins with us. Every time we post negative comments, we are committing self inflicting harm to ourselves. It is ok to disagree with me, this is how I see it. If I had a son or daughter considering UR, I have reason to pause!!

Then there is the $80,000.00 pause too. lol

ok not sure I'm following - no negative comment meant for UR by my comment .. only posted since I found it pretty craze when I looked at recently that GC had 103K students ..

Yes sir that too, let’s first get our individual acts together in which we have control over.

Anyone know if Peter Thomas has the ability to sign recruits or are we some type of holding pattern until Mooney returns from his indefinite leave of absence.

Also anyone know when he is planning to return?

Mooney being spotted out to lunch is a good sign. He may not be back on campus yet, but have to imagine he's in communication with the staff and can approve roster offers/signings. I guess it's fortunate we're all very good at Zoom now.

Ques Glover, 6'0 G out of Samford, was at Florida before that. Averaged 14.7 ppg on 37% three point shooting this year. 1 year left.

Former Spider target Elijah Tucker is transferring from Xavier. We didn't seem to have much traction with him the first time around though.

Things have been quiet for us the past few days. Haven't seen any signs of narrowing interest with guys...just long lists with us included.

Hopefully with Mooney back in the office things will start to pick up. Still time though, we didn't get our first portal commit until mid-April last year. Of course, our playing season lasted a couple weeks longer last year before we were really able to jump into offseason mode.

Thanks SFspider, true. I will be glad when things do heat up though.

Today started a full-week dead period for recruiting that will last til 4/6. Can't have any campus visits or "contacts/evaluations" until then. I assume we'll set up a few campus visits for Mid-April once the dead period is over.

Does the recruiting calendar apply to transfers as well as high schoolers? I just assumed not, but I actually have no idea and can't find anything that specifically addresses it in a quick search.

I'm basing this off of a few tweets that mention transfers will take visits "after the dead period" like this one on Lampkin. Reads to me like it applies to transfers too.

Ya, guess so. Seems weird to me, as things are totally different for these guys and they have a limited window in which to find a new home. I know this one is for the Final Four when a lot of head coaches are in attendance and meetings are taking place, but there's also another dead period April 10–13.

Guess I'll take this as Selden still mentioning us. Rice visit planned for 4/14.
