Throw Back Tournament Team?

Malcolm Bernard shows what a freaking wimp Mooney is. He could have put this academic restriction issue to bed. If in fact he was not admitted because his GPA was .1 below the threshold, then he should have been screaming to the heavens. But he was put in a stranglehold after his pathetic UNC-Charlotte meltdown, and didn't want to jeopardize his 1.3 mill + cars+ radio shows+ other benefits gig. He just shut up and went along. How pathetic.

Of the many complaints I have about CM, this is not one of them. I have a reasonable insight into what happened in this case and it was entirely out of his control based on what I know. New dean of admissions for SPCS was brought in right when Bernard was going through and the grad school took a hardline on not bending their admission standards. Maybe the AD could have better navigated that, but I won't put that one on Mooney.

Either way, I find it interesting that there was enough of a relationship in that short period that MB would feel connected enough to play with the UR crew. Good for him/them.

We have seen this in other circumstances with Mooney. He'd rather continue to collect his 1.3 million dollar paycheck and other amenities he is afforded that fight for what is best for our program (see the hiring and retention of all of his assistant coaches, as another example).

I know this is the book on CM and you guys want to believe it. In this example that was not the case.

Why assume that is what he did? How do you know he wasn't super pissed about it? It's not like he is going to call the media, have a press conference and bad mouth the university about it. My goodness, you get on Mooney for not landing guys, and then when he gets a good one, and he is not allowed in here, you still get on Mooney for it?

Kendall is playing pro ball in Brazil right now. KA is an assistant coach at Liberty, there might be some NCAA regs against coaches playing in a tournament like this. Not sure. I have no idea what Ced is up to, but am curious, if anyone knows. He did come to a couple of our games this year.
