The Pros of having 2 quality QBs

Many on this board were disappointed that DR offered MR a scholarship. If we didn't have MR it is highly unlikely that we are # 8 and won the last 3 games. As we have seen over the last couple of years our starting QBs get injured and we need a quality backup to come in. Regardless of what happens with Strauss coming back and when he will play we have to give credit to the job that MR has done the past month and his role over the next 3 weeks.

This is an exciting time for the fans, the players and seniors. Lets hope our senior QBs can help lead this team and close out the regular season on a high note

M Rocco has done a great job, glad he is a Spider

Have only had issue with MR coming in when we go inside the 10 after MS was in rhythm taking team right down the field. Doing that simply made our O less likely to get a TD because everyone knew they were going to run. No one has ever said that you didn't want to have a good backup QB ready to go, if needed. We luckily had that 2 years ago when Laub broke his ankle. But prior to the injury you didn't see Strauss going in for him at the 5 yd line. MR does seem to be getting in better synch with receivers, so hope they start fast at Maine tomorrow. On the road can't let Bears think they have any chance of winning.

Good post by Midlo Trader. I agree that offense always seemed to lose its rhythm in the red zone when Rocco came in (prior to the injury to Strauss). Spiders are fortunate to have M.Rocco on the roster. He is very solid QB and would not have started games at UVA if he was not talented. It would be nice to have Strauss back because he is a top notch passer, but Spiders can win with M.Rocco, help from his offensive supporting cast, solid special teams and a defense that is coming on at the right time.
