Anyone know the status of our team regards to vaccination and being boosted. I saw both Kentucky and Purdue tweeted out that their teams are 100% vaccinated and boosted. Also heard today that VCU (who is currently shutdown) is not 100% vaxxed (shocking I know). Just wondering if anyone knew our status. Obviously, if the entire team and coaching staff is 100% vaxxed and boosted, our chances of playing games is enhanced.

Also know that Sherod and Dji both were getting boosted after the Bucknell game, so just curious if this was a team wide thing or just individual players stepping up to do the right thing for the team. Hopefully, the former.

kids in schools are getting tested regardless. there are teams that are 100% vaxed who have been shut down this year. the vax doesn't stop you from getting it. the boost doesn't either. and the boost doesn't seem to last very long according to new studies.

just stating facts ... not advising against boosting.

I believe UR has required all students to be vaccinated since the FDA approval for the Pfizer vaccine. Unless anyone on the team has a medical/religious exemption, I’d expect they’ve all been vaccinated

Cal stated that his team is 100% boosted and only testing players now if they are symptomatic. Seems like a very reasonable approach to me and will allow Kentucky better chance to play.

Well so does VCU, but yet some of their players are not vaccinated. So I guess at least one possibly more of their players got some type of exemption.

I thought our entire team got boosted after the Bucknell game. Is that not the case?
Yes, that is what I was asking. You see other teams who are 100% boosted promoting that out now, would seem like a good piece of positive PR to share out and also encourage others in the Spider family who haven't been boosted to do so.

From what I’ve heard it was up to the individual player(booster). I’m not 100% though.

A lot of this is going to involve some luck if we don't wind up in the same situation so I don't want to speak too soon...

That being said, I'm really proud the players recognizing the gravity of the situation and they all OPTED to get vaccinated. Not every school in the A10 can say that. With a roster of 20 players and revised rules I am hoping we won't incur any stops/speed bumps at the very least on our end as the season progresses.

Glad Moondog reads these boards and responds so quickly to my inquiries. In all seriousness, I'm glad our team is taking this seriously and giving us every chance to play a full season.

I'd have to imagine if you had a guy or two in your locker room that was anti-vax (ala VCU) that this couldn't be good for overall team morale, especially if you go on pause because of said players.

His comments on what went on last year were eye opening. Covid did not hit them hard, but the policies around Covid did. Interesting.

If Nick is any indication, I’m sure all the team will be ok.

My very obnoxious VCU friend was so happy when the 2020 season ended prematurely since there would be no tournament that we could participate in.

Then he mocked us after each covid pause last year.

After the final pause finally told him to shove it and asked what the hell is wrong with him. Told him karma would come back and bite him in the @$$ and watch it happen to them once the tournament starts.(I didn't pull for this)

I still remember calling him last year to break that news to him live. All I could hear was his soul leaving his body since that was the first time he heard the news.

VCU fans and players should take up any grievances they have with him and not the players. He put a hex on them.

I guess it I’d karma. Shame on him!

I’m fully vaccinated and boosted!
Well…
Here is my timeline
vaxxed twice in April
on 12/3 scheduled booster for 12/10
on 12/9 got a head cold postponed booster to 12/12
on 12/12 cold was worse postponed booster to 12/17
cold ended 12/13 tested positive 12/14 so no booster
12/26 continued to test positive

So…should I host a message board get together tomorrow night? ;)

trying to remember when boosters became available to under 65, with no underlying conditions…

Yet Moon also claims the majority of team indeed tested positive by end of season. Also interesting too that Golden disputed Moon & says many guys were struggling from Covid. Perhaps Moon meant nothing serious came from it but that’s no different than virtually every college student athlete.

I read that to mean Mooney was talking about the physical issues with COVID and that Grant was talking more about the whole "general life as a college student/basketball player" during a pandemic is hard, rather than specifically when they actually had the disease.

U r referencing the press conf for both yesterday, correct? If so I think it was clear Grant was talking physically.

What possible difference can it make? From a basketball status they can still get and test positive for the virus!

as to their own personal health that is their decision. And yes as an old guy I’m fully vaccinated. until recently vaccination meant immunization. They changed the definition because covid shots don’t give you immunity

Oh, I didn't see the conference. It was based on the RTD article. I'll go back and look.

Ok no prob. Check out the presser. FYI JOC didn't have a separate interview with Mooney or Golden. All those quotes came from the pre game St Joes press conference.

& Golden didn't have any comments in the article about the pandemic/Covid so I wasn't sure where you were pulling it from, I figured it had to be the presser and, to me, it was unequivocal what Golden was talking about. If u end up watching lmk if u disagree.

It doesn't even matter anyway. just found odd in same press conference the coach and player aren't on same page at all. Actually I guess it's not odd. Mooney & admin have had issues w truth & transparency for quite a while now.

I’m confused that you have a VCU friend. You’re smarter than that!
