Stafford Trueheart II

Yes, this is definitely an odd case. Seems like there has to be some kind of untold story here. If he is not getting recruited at the level he wants, seems he would go the prep school route to improve his game and standing as opposed to a walk on spot.

But this is still a curious case to me. How does a 6'8" player go from gaining interest of us, Siena, Canisius, by all accounts having a great senior season, and then the next thing we hear is he will be competing to get a walk on spot at JMU? Not even just a regular walk on but COMPETING for walk on spot?

The lack of interest can't be just because hes skinny. I probably shouldn't be wasting any time thinking about this but with nothing else going on I can't help but wonder.

I don't think it is a huge mystery. He literally hasn't had an offer in 2 years, he looked like he had potential as a high school sophomore, and was offered on that potential, but never turned into a D1 caliber player.

I have honestly had doubts that he is a real person, and that the name Stafford Trueheart II was the product of a random name generator.

We've been clamoring about this kid for nearly 2 years on this board. Either (A) this board has little or no ability to assess A10 level talent or (B) our staff cannot land a big who plays "above the rim", when we are lacking bigs and have room for them.

A is certainly true, and B seems to be true at the moment.

Trueheart is a one and done NBA lottery pick. So, we would have not had him for more than one year. That's fine with me.
