SPIDER BASKETBALL ALL-TIME TEAM

Are we really debating that Gilly was a better player than KA. Gilly was a great player for us and he hit some big shots for us in our A-10 run and in the Iowa game. Kevin Anderson made FAR more big plays throughout his career. He was the alpha for 4 years, he wasn't giving up his playing making abilities to Gonzo, like Gilly did to Blake.
Agreed. We can end the debate

We can have our different opinions, but the truth of the matter is one guy was a top 15 player in the conference the only two years he was at UR. While one guy was top 15 once.
Both were outstanding players, who each fit very well on their teams and made their teams and teammates better. It is certainly not surprising that opinions could be different on who was better. I don't think top 15 tells a lot though because Gonzalvez's best year might have been his junior year, when he likely just missed making 3rd team all A-10, and probably should have been on there.

KA/Gonzo was a very very good tandem. Like I said on another post, if we got a little different draw Gonzo's senior year, think we could have made some noise that year. Francis was good, great warrior, but if I was ranking the four guards in order would probably be 1) KA 2) Gilly 3) Gonzo 4) Francis. All were quite good. All were good defenders too. Ranking as defenders would probably go 1) Gilly 2) Gonzo 3) Francis 4) KA
All 4 of them were so good. I would not have a problem putting these 4 guys in any order. No opinion should be considered crazy here. If someone, like you in your rankings, thinks KA was the best, fine. Hard to call that crazy thinking. And, if someone thinks Jacob was better than KA, or Blake was better than Gonzalvez, it's hard to argue against that. Sometimes, it's hard to know who was better when teams and teammates were different. I think KA and Gonzo fit well together and Jacob and Blake fit well together. All 4 had great success here.

Saw them both play. I'd take Gonzo every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
This. Again, if you saw, you saw. Gonzo's senior year, we beat 5 NCAA tournament teams and numerous ranked team during the year. Here is the list.

Missouri, 10 seed in NCAA
Miss. State, 1 seed in NIT
Florida (ranked 13) when we beat them 7 seed in NCAA
Temple (ranked 19) when we beat them 5 seed in NCAA
Xavier (ranked 24), when we beat them 6 seed in NCAA
ODU, 11 seed in NCAA.

Likewise, Blake's best year was the pandemic year, the only notable victory we had that year was Wisconsin (great win by the way) and that is the reason that team was firmly on the bubble and needing to win some games in the A-10 tourney to get in, whereas our 2010 team was a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament and nationally ranked at the end of the year.

the Florida game reminds me of the big 3 Gonzo hit in that game. Essentially the game winner. I road tripped to that game it was a lot of fun & propelled us into the kind of season we had imo. Plus u had the Seminole hard rock casino nearby & the best hole in the wall burger joint I’ve ever been to in Hollywood, FL. That game was the “orange bball classic” u had committee members wearing around orange sports jackets. After we won I unsuccessfully tried to buy one off an old committee dude to wear it around the rest of the night. Guess he thought it was the green jacket or something.

My experience is that sometimes you just have to take it :), glad though that you had respect for the elderly. I recall my roommate and I rolling up JMU's band banner and walking out of the Richmond Coliseum with no issue.

The 2x A-10 doesn't hold as much weight for me, as you're comparing two very different conferences. Xavier and Temple were both Top 25 programs; there was more competition for the spots as 97 mentioned.

Maybe you're right and the numbers support it quite easily.

Player A is Gonzo. You're absolutely entitled to your opinion that Blake was "a lot better than Gonzo," but the numbers certainly don't support it.
05 can you give a similar chart for TJC, KA, and Gilly through their time at UR?
