Since resuming in late February, things have normalized and now Bellarmine’s matchup vs. Mercer on Saturday is meaningful not for its novelty or emotional impact, but for its effect on the SoCon Tournament.

If Bellarmine beats Mercer and Richmond beats Air Force, the Knights, Bears and Falcons will be in a three-way tie for the four-seed with a 2-4 record, and the tie-breaker will be goal-differential between the three teams. Mercer beat Air Force 15-13 and Air Force beat Bellarmine 8-6. That means that if the Knights beat Mercer by three or more, they secure the four spot. (If they beat Mercer by two, then the next tie-breaker involves goal differential among the whole conference and favors Air Force ((unless Richmond wins by 25)). If they beat Mercer by one, Mercer gets in.)

Each conference will be awarded an AQ and there will be interconference scheduling

NCAA tournament shows the strength of our schedule this year with Duke, UNC, UVA, and Loyola advancing to the quarterfinals. Hopefully we can keep such a strong schedule next season. Don't know how many interconference games with the ASun next season will fill up schedule removing some of the higher ranked opponents? Will our interconference scheduling be limited to Air Force and Bellarmine from the ASun?

If the Ivies had played this Spring it is quite likely neither Loyola nor Rutgers would have gotten in the Tourney.Nor would we have had as high a ranking as we had.That Loyola W over host Denver was a terrific game.

I’m actually surprised how small of an endowment they have. It’s not a new school- almost 100 years old with
strong Methodist backing.

Rather than building their endowment, they plowed pretty much everything they had (over $2 billion) over the past 15 years since Qubein arrived into building out high-end facilities and programs to increase the school's appeal and reputation.

They've really come a long way, and now they're into the next phase. Qubein signed on through 2029, and they're in the early stages of a 10-year effort to raise $1 billion with $700 million of it going to scholarship/financial aid endowment.

Qubein has garnered a lot of attention for being one of the highest-paid presidents in the country, but clearly they're happy with the job he's done.
