yesIs he able to get a redshirt possibly for this past season - given the injuries and limited games he appeared in?
Maybe he parked illegally and hasn't paid his ticket yet?As I reported about 2 weeks ago I was at the team shoot around. Ryan was clearly wearing a boot that day.
If he wears that boot, what's his horse power rating?Maybe he parked illegally and hasn't paid his ticket yet?
Thanks, I missed that. Curious what happened there. He was in street clothes since before Christmas, so did he just get back on the court after the season wrapped up and reinjure something, or did they wait until after the season for a procedure? (No idea why they would have waited if he was already shut down for the season.)As I reported about 2 weeks ago I was at the team shoot around. Ryan was clearly wearing a boot that day.
he was also in a boot at the last home game I am virtually sure as I think about it now ..Thanks, I missed that. Curious what happened there. No they have started giving those out for loitering…Maybe he parked illegally and hasn't paid his ticket yet?
Oh, no! Now he will switch to soccer for us.Bad news: He needed Tomy John surgery in his ankle. Good news: Soon he'll be able to throw a 98-mph screwball with his ankle.
All 3 at the same time seems very unlikely to me.I believe 23 asked for an update on Ryan. Ryan is scheduled to be on campus next week. His dad is or was a professional player in Europe and one of his dad's connections helped rehab Ryan. The coach continues to speak very positively of him and said both Ryan and Jonathan Beagle are both very versatile and could play center or forward. He also said that Beagle is EXTREMELY impressive and that Mike has also stepped up his game. One of the people on the call attended a recent practice and said Mike was completely ripped. We could see 2 of the 3 playing at the same time.
Maybe I should get my eyes checked, hahaYep, 80's said 2 out of 3. Which I like at times. I know some are very opposed to even playing 2 at the same time - for fear of being able to stretch the floor on O, as well as guard the 3pt line on D. Anyway, its nice that we have Beagle and Walz - so Ryan doesn't need to necessarily rush back. Also nice that he has an extra season of separation from Walz and Beagle.
Therea two years difference between Walz/Beagle and Soulis, yes?Yep, 80's said 2 out of 3. Which I like at times. That is my understanding - Walz / Beagle Juniors, now with the RS - Soulis is a freshman - 4 years to play.Therea two years difference between Walz/Beagle and Soulis, yes?
Agree - the more time he's gotten the more he's shown he can do. I definitely see a little Grant Golden in his game.Bumping .. 2/3 of the way through this infamous '24-25 season, I think Ryan Soulis is the only Spider who has exceeded my expectations , even with his limited minutes. See signs that he actually may be better in Mooney's famous point-center role than Walz/Beagle and while still very raw, he seems to have some decent moves to the basket. Hope he gets 10 to 15 minutes a game the rest of the year and assume all 3 big men are back next year, think it could and should be open competition in terms of who starts next year.
Last night probably his best game I've seen of him. Not sure just yet to come to a conclusion. We've now seen good games through the season of all 3 centers.Bumping .. 2/3 of the way through this infamous '24-25 season, I think Ryan Soulis is the only Spider who has exceeded my expectations , even with his limited minutes. last night the 3 bigs looked like 3 of our best players, all deserving to play more. We've now seen good games through the season of all 3 centers.
he's saving it as a big surprise strategy to throw our opponents off in the A10 tournament....next yearlast night the 3 bigs looked like 3 of our best players, all deserving to play more.
we can't go into next year planning to play them 13 mpg each. 2 have to play together some.
I can't imagine all 3 being happy with the current rotation. and if we don't try it this season, I don't know if I'd trust CM if he again says we'll do it next year.

yeah I meant to write "assuming" all 3 big men will be back - agree with you that is is unlikely .. but sort of thinking Soulis (and Walz) will return. Hope Soulis realizes his potential to be a big impact player here in Mooney's system may be more than elsewhere providing he has strong guards to work with during the next 3 seasons. Time will tell.Yep. and if u don't play him some at F it increases chances of transfer just due to the PT issue u mention above. unlike sec9 not assuming all 3 will be back. not in this NIL transfer perpetual eligibility era. I want to keep Soulis but he's also most likely candidate to leave given years left. Walz is academically focused and been here 3 - least likely imo. Beagle just transferred in 2024, tho that hasn't stopped many. Now I'm not sure any would have great offers but 3 at the same position they may care more about role idk.
Last night I mentioned the 1st half seemed like a great opportunity to do it with us getting hammered on the O boards.
He's got a very nice touch for a big man. Wish, though, he would be a little more aggressive on the offensive end and take it to the rack instead of the turn around jumper, etc.I saw mention of Grant at the game. Curious to know how much TJ or Grant worked with Walz and Beagle this off season? Last year I felt like there was a lot of mention of Quinn receiving instruction from one or both, but don't recall hearing anything this off season. I thought Walz was making really good progress first two seasons, and despite bunch on this board touting him, does not seem to have improved on offense. He is always going to be a big physical presence, but was hoping for a bigger jump on the offensive end. Again, maybe did not work out and receive mentorship from those guys like Quinn did. Or maybe Quinn seeked it out, and/or just talked about it more in public.

Agree. He does have a nice looking shot. He did end up taking a few more shots last night. Several games back he had 17 points. Then the next game he reverted to distributor. I just don't think he looks to shoot enough. He's a big physical guy and should be able to push his way into shots under the goal. He's got a very nice touch for a big man.
