Rush the Court, Now.

Great game. Great time for the students to rush the court. A double OT win. They deserve to celebrate. A great feeling.

PA, espn is doing a replay later tonight, one more chance to get the entire game.

We did everything to keep RPI in the game. We should have won this game by 10 plus points. That being said, our guys responded and it was a great finish. I have no problem with the kids rushing the court. Now they need to show up to the SLU game.

Spider B, you are exactly right, with some average ball handling and freethrow shooting it would have been a double digit win. Win is a Win though.

I wl give Shaka the benefit of the doubt because the students rushed the court, but I dont think he shook hands with our team.

Good thing you gave him the benefit of the doubt. How would anyone shake hands? Opposing teams get off the court when student blow their load and storm the court.

am not a fan of this contrived, mandated, teams line up and shake hands post game, whether football or basketball. like the guys doing it on their own but not the fact that they are forced to in a line. that is not sportsmanship, that is someone's idea of "just getting along" and not what it is about.

Spider B - Shaka did shake hands with Mooney. I'm not sure how he could have with the team when they were with the students rushing the court.

Disagree. You play hard on the court and then win or lose you go over and shake hands with your opponent. All of the players usually shake hands or bump fists at the beginning of the game with the officials and often the other team (we did it last night). It reinforces a message that while you battle on the court, you also respect your opponent. Manufactured, tradition, or whatever, if we didn't do it, I think there would be a lot more disrespectful plays on the court .

I agree, 97. if it wasn't mandated it wouldn't happen much, and that would be wrong. fight like heck on the court, then let it go. best man/team wins. like in hockey. you'd think their line-up was BS. they beat the hell out of each other. then they give real handshakes after, mostly with kind words too. always impressed with that.

A number of players did shake hands after the game. K Zero and Weber gave each other a big hug. Might have been lost in all the activity on the court. The yellow jacketed security was between the teams shaking hands and the fans racing onto the court. Probably difficult to see unless you were sitting on the side of the court behind the team benches.

Yeah, both coaching staffs and at least some players shook hands. It is shown very clearly if you watch the replay on ESPN3.com.

of course you do and has always been a tradition but they started forcing it, mandating it, in a line and to me that just flys in the face of what it is about unless you are rhonda rousey
