What do you mean by "stooped to," "mocking," and "wow"? These are all emotionally charged words/terms with potentially demeaning connotations, and I am trying to look at this objectively.
Please henceforth objectify your responses.
But if I might ask, what kind of friends do you have who get "enjoyment" from watching us lose to Longwood, Hampton, and, forgive me Jesus, Oral Roberts?
Do you teach preschoolers?
No offense intended. Like I said, just trying to understand.
Fair enough. I don't think I'd call it fictional either. My recollection is that one or two posters went so far as to say they hoped we lost, and they were criticized for their position. Not sure I would call that numerous.
Name more than one.How short is your memory? Numerous posters were rooting for the Spiders to lose so Mooney could be fired. Not fictional at all.

I don't believe he/she personally attacked you in this post. If I'm understanding correctly the directive is NOT to personally attack others here. The negativity will continue until such time as a change is made in the program and/or there is success. There's nothing wrong with negativity. Personal attacks and insults are never OK on this or any other message board.Actually, you've helped to drive this board into the ground with that being your stated goal. Congratulations are in order, I guess.
Your post:
Spider 23 on September 11th
Hopefully I can drive the board participation down to only #FMM, they are the enlightened one's when it comes to Spiders basketball.
I'll go with 65 spiderman's and kneepadmckinney's replies since they substantiate my original post in this thread:
and I'll say this ... you're constant, repetitive opinion has prompted some to examine how often they want to visit this board.

So you want the board to become a complete echo chamber of anonymous, disgruntled, hateful internet posters with the sole agenda to get someone fired and berate anyone who doesn't? Congrats, it's working.

I'm thinking I might have felt offended at this post if it were directed at me, but hey, that's just my perception. What do you mean by "stooped to," "mocking," and "wow"? next year.... again. come on.Broc, don’t believe it. The Spider roster is loaded; will likely progress this year, and next year will be pretty awesome. A coaching change could put off our success several years. Let’s hold on and see what happens.
The comments I hear off boards are the same or worse than I read here.
This is my experience as well. People who know I am an ardent Spider fan like to make fun of the state of our program now and deride me about it. It's all friendly banter, I would return in kind when their programs are down. But I have friends who are fans of VCU, W&M, JMU, UVA, and Tech and they all laugh about the state of our program. Obviously, VCU fans are the worst offenders.^This.The negativity around the program is worse in real life/real time than it is here on this board. People in my basketball circles consider our program to be a joke right now. For me, that's reason enough to make a change.

Is "We might be better off if we continue to lose so we can get a new coach"; the same as "I hope we lose"? If so then I am guilty and will not make the statement again.
To Ulla: I am 70 years old and longevity doesn't run in my family. Although I am in good health, I can't be sure how many "next years" I have left. So while I respect your support of the coach, please quit dangling the carrot.
To VT: I am a retired police officer
I have 4 children, 2 stepchildren, and 6 grandchildren
I live in New Kent Va
I hate celery and political correctness
This is absolutely true! Great stuff.97, I respect your opinion but you will never sway me on celery, I don't care how much peanut butter you use.
Now steam a large bowl of cauliflower, add one stick of butter, a cup of half and half, and garlic salt. Blend well. BETTER THAN MASHED POTATOES (gravy optional but recommended)
PS bacon grease works in everything
Cardboard is good with peanut butter.Rick, I've been liking your posts for a long time now, but really celery. There are far worse vegetables than celery. Cauliflower, Kale, and any of the Southern leafy vegetables that you have too cook for hours on end with bacon just to make them moderately edible.
Celery has a great crunch, excellent dipping potential, good with peanut butter.
