Possible New Coaches

if you know anything about Penny and the kids he has in his HS and AAU program, yes.
not saying this is the right path for everyone. but Memphis has to recruit their city. Penny's a legend there. there's no comparable person for UR to hire.

I'm sure Penny has a lot of credibility within Memphis, but to hire a coach with no college coaching experience is a huge risk. At least, Ewing was an assistant coach in the NBA prior to be hired by Georgetown.

I'll tell you this, I don't want him in a games of X's and O's against Gregg Marshall or Cronin.

Well, that is a hell of an assistant coach. He is also a very tempermental SOB, who doesn't stay in a job for very long. This Memphis thing is either going to be great or it is going to implode in spectacular fashion.

I am just going to accept that nothing is going to change. Win 18 something games next year. Come back to this blog again next year. Cause that's usually what happens around here.

where does this "we always win 18" keep coming from? we've literally never won 18 in Mooney's history. yes, this year sucked. won 22 last year. I expect to be in that range next year. hopefully better.

All sports, even individual sports like tennis and track, have coaches. I don't see why 3 on 3 wouldn't also benefit from a coach.

These are washed up NBA players playing streetball for entertainment. The whole league is a promotional stunt anyway. I can't imagine there is any actual coaching involved. I guess they get to stand there and sub the guys in and out.
