Depends on how big of a step up you're talking about. Mitchell certainly is sharing a lot of FBS interest, but Coleman, Traynor, and Gouveia have all claimed FBS offers as well.

Heard parts of interview so cannot say much, replay should be up on radio site later. Heard above, also said no leaving players mentioned Patriot or money. Said felt they proved could play at higher level and wanted to try.

This might be up somewhere already.
If have not heard it, might be worth your time.

He actually praises the players leaving for helping Spiders win a championship at one point and says they are owed gratitude.

I thought his comments were classy.

And to reduce costs, at the expense of the football program.
If the 63 scholarships are filled by players who leave after two years, or by players who stay for all four, the cost is identical.

Not sure how "reducing costs" figures into it. But, your logic often eludes me.

Agree with your words. Unless we see a change in funding, UR has been extremely generous as well as donors to our football program. I still say the toxic climate over NIL and the portal were the driving factors to our move to the Patriot League.

is there a full list of UR guys in the portal? Can include those that left the team before the end of the season.

The ships r the primary cost. But there is certainly more cost to going out & replacing players at a higher frequency. Just like hiring & turnover comes with a cost in corporate world. Very logical. Gallipoli can speak for himself & what he meant but if 63 players r staying for 4 vs. 2 years no doubt it reduces costs. But more importantly I think Richmond wants a high % that matriculate to graduate.

Traynor is visiting Wisconsin on Friday. He has another visit scheduled too, but I can't get past the paywall to see what it is.

I was looking for clarification. So unless there is no reduction in scholarships in the PL, there will be no decrease in monetary costs.

Left 1 important item off list which would never be admitted to.JOC gave him cover.-

“Huesman, Richmond’s coach since 2017, was asked based on communication with outgoing players to rank the influences of these factors on their decisions:

- UR’s shift from CAA Football to the Patriot League starting in the 2025 season

- potential Name, Image and Likeness financial compensation at another school

- desire to compete at a higher level”

How many transfers leaving from Villanova and William and Mary?Don't see any.
Nova and W&M are not leaving for the Patriot. The first item on this list was Richmond's move to the Patriot. You are using veiled insinuations and cryptic statements to attack Coach Huesman. Huesman is not a field general and he has a prickly personality. Huesman held back his team on offense this year. Other than that he is a pretty good coach. The exodus from the school like this did not happen in any prior year. So one may conclude that Coach Huesman is not the proximate cause of The Exodus.

You fail to admit that the Patriot League move is an absolute disaster for the program. This dumpster fire is a direct result of President Hallock's unilateral and hasty decision to exit the CAA for the Patriot.

William and Mary and Villanova will see the long-term damage this has caused to the football program. There is no way they will leave the CAA. Why would they?

If there is any dancing around the issue, it is the failure to lay the blame at the feet of our glorious leader.

No one has yet given a reason for the move to the Patriot in Hallock's first months as president of our school.

I assume Porter will be following him, but nothing official on that front yet I don't think.

We've offered DaMario Crawford, a transfer DB out of Saint Francis. Has also been offered by UNH, Stony Brook and Elon.

Tomlinson with new offers from Rhody, UNH, Monmouth, North Dakota, SELA, and Tennessee Tech.

Giving up a UR degree for this? I do hope he's already graduated, or plans to in May.
New Mexico State just offered!

In other news, Gouveia has been offered by Scott Abell at Rice, while Stocklinski has offers from Murray State, Southern Illinois, and Samford.

Is there a site that shows how much NIL money each booster / school is paying out. I would think the NCAA is tracking this. Would love to see stats on this

Well, good for him. I was in Cruces last fall for a game, lots of sunshine and great food. They are building a new locker room/weight room/training complex in one of the end zones so their facilities should be OK. He'll get lots of plane rides with the Aggies to far-flung C-USA destinations.

Marshall has 36 players in the portal and have had to pull out of their bowl game against Army.
