The ads are going to be silly. In this one a woman blames Trump of her illness because she couldn't get an abortion in Texas. The women in the ad is probably an actress and not real. Who goes on TV with tears flowing and talks about getting an abortion? It reminds me of the one in which Paul Ryan pushes granny over a cliff. My response- if you are concerned, take it up with your local elected representative. Trump is going to be hit with a deluge of these ads. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Once again, do you even read the articles that you post? This "actress" is suing Texas because she couldn't get an abortion after miscarriage, got sepsis and almost died, and is now possibly infertile. I assume she cares enough about others that she would like to see the law changed and is willing to share her story of misery. And if Trump had not appointed 3 radically right Supreme Court Justices (2 of the 3 lied about honoring precedent, Barrett at least said Roe was not a super precedent in her mind) she would not have been in this situation. But coming from the same guy who has no regret about 13,000 children in Gaza being killed, I guess I'm not surprised that you don't appreciate someone else's misery. Now you can come up with some BS and say "got you again".

Long Time, Understand, even appreciate, you hold views that differ from the three Justices, but do not believe that makes them "radically right".

Exact same contention of Conservatives toward the Warren Court and most subsequent iterations who viewed them as "radically left".

Lots of folks largely, but not totally, agree with the current approach to Constitutional interpretation.

Point taken, KE. I think my frustration with the 3 Trump appointees is that all 3 said they believed in Court precedent and then quickly overturned a decision that was decided 50 years ago by conservative and liberal justices, and had been affirmed by the Court several times since to my knowledge. Roberts is certainly not radical right, I would say Thomas definitely is, and would lean to the same with Alito. And I'm sure many think the 3 liberal justices are radical left.

The frustration is amplified by Trump campaigning he would only appoint Justices that would over turn Roe. Even though they proclaim adherence to precedent at first opportunity they overturn Roe. Smells like the fix was on.

The upcoming presidential election, in a nutshell. No one has to ask themself who the "platter of shit with bits of broken glass" is. We all know.

You mean originalists? The real change will be a pairing down of the administrative state. We as a country have ceded too much control to unelected bureaucrats.

First off, personally believe abortion should be legal up to 15 weeks. After that the usual exceptions, life of the mother, gross fetal abnormalities, etc. This is consistent with virtually all European countries, whereas with Roe the US was an extreme outlier on the abortion issue.

Roe was a poorly legally reasoned decision. Nine males read a right into the Constitution that scores of previous Justices for well over a century failed to see. It was substitution of a perceived positive social policy over any previously recognized Constitutional right. Issue was not considered when the Constitution was drafted and is mute on the issue. Roe epitomizing judicial activism.

No one has the right to shoot someone in the head while they walk down the street. No one has the right to crush the head of a human being as they exit the birth canal. As interpreted, Roe allowed abortion up to that point.

Don't agree with Florida's 6 week limit or the insane Arizona decision, sure there are more too, but until Federal abortion legislation is enacted (not going to happen) Constitutionally it is a state issue.

Well reasoned again. Abortion is a state issue, which is where it should be addressed.

Just like voting rights in the 1960s, when the old Confederacy was essentially an apartheid state? Without Federal intervention/law, how long would it have been before Blacks could vote, leaving it up to the states?

Worth noting:

NYC public schools were not fully integrated until the 1960s, Boston public schools were not integrated until 1974 to much ballyhoo - about the same as throughout the country.

Doesn't address voting rights, but obvious discrimination was not isolated to the "old Confederacy" as some characterize it.

Also worth noting, the states created the federal government, not vice versa. The states are not, and definitely were never intended to be, kids to Big Daddy. Seventeenth Amendment bastardized the original structure. House was to represent interests of the populace, Senate was to represent the interests of the states (different, but far from mutually exclusive).

Federalism has skewed far too much toward the Feds. Example - Feds refuse to enforce existing immigration law, yet dictate to the border states suffering from the consequences "we ain't doing it, but you aren't allowed to do it either". If you are logical, this is total BS. Every state has the absolute right to protect their territory.

The Federal government has an obligation to protect the rights of the country's citizen's when the states clearly won't. Hence the equal protection under the law aspect of the 14th amendment and voting rights laws. We've seen what some states have done to voting rights after the ill-advised Shelby County vs. Holder decision.

Since this is about polling and Donald Trump, let's get back on track.
"Donald Trump is losing support as President Joe Biden is gaining with just under seven months to go until the 2024 Election, according to polls."..

This article attributes the decline, at least in part, to the lawfare that has been waged against Trump.

"Trump's dip in support comes in the run up to his historic "hush money" trial starting in New York on Monday.

Trump became the first former U.S. president to face criminal prosecution when he appeared in court for the trial. He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges and says the case is a result of a "witch hunt" by political opponents.

The result of this trial and other Trump legal entanglements could play a major factor in determining who wins the 2024 election between Trump and Biden. Polls frequently show voters could be put off backing the presumptive Republican nominee if he is found guilty of a crime before the November election."

Oh, you refer to the decision that found the government cannot require preclearance by DOJ on voting rights based on almost 50 year old rather than contemporaneous data?

What about the rights of citizens when their lives are threatened by the actions of the Federal Government? Who protects those people from the policies of Joe Biden? Innocents like Laken Riley in Georgia. Who was going to protect her life? Didn't she deserve equal rights?

And if DJT wins, who will protect citizens from his retribution tour?

Not sure of how you define citizens but I hope no one protects the pieces of liberal crap that uses lawfare to influence an election. Throw them under the bus, run over them, back up and do it again. Bragg, Willis, stained FBI and DOJ employees would be a good start. I can’t believe this third world country activity is happening. Trump is far from a good candidate/person but considering the destruction on the current administration holding your noise and voting for change is the only option. I’m sure those suffering from TDS will disagree.

Unlike Comer, whose committee has been investigating impeachment of Joe Biden for over 6 months and he still cannot cite the crime he believes Biden has committed, these "pieces of liberal crap" as you define can at least state a crime and facts supporting their allegation. If these matters are ever brought to a trial we will find out if they can prove their case or not,

No person, not even a President, is or should be above the law. Citizens should know whether a candidate is a felon or not BEFORE the vote.

I didn’t mention Joe. I responded to your claim of retribution by DT. I’m sure those suffering from TDS are hoping for a felony conviction somewhere in the numerous liberal DAs and judges attempts. Good luck with that but demonstrates how pathetic the left has become to influence elections.

And I find it disgusting that the left is using our legal system, FBI, and DOJ to influence elections and attacks on political opponents.

While the left covers up crimes by Hunter, Joe, Jim, Naomi, Jill,... you fail to even acknowledge that the Bidens have done anything wrong. The hypocrisy is stunning.

Like I've said before, if they have done something criminal, charge them. I don't want criminals running our government if that makes me "left" then I wear it proudly. After 6 months of intense investigation Comer cannot even name a crime for Joe.

Show me the recording of Biden trying to get the secretary of state of a state he lost to "find 11,000 votes" and illegally overturn that state's legal election.

Show me where Biden encouraged the Democratic party to submit lists of false electors in states he lost.

Show me where Biden incited his followers to attack the US Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the Constitutional succession process.

Show me where Biden paid hush money to a porn star to cover up an affair he had while his wife was pregnant.

Show me where Biden committed fraud by knowingly over-valuing his real estate holdings to receive loans.

Show me any "crime" at all.

What is "stupidity" is how thoroughly you have swallowed the narrative of FOX, a network that paid nearly $900 million in damages to a company it consistently and knowingly lied about and disparaged for months on end. FOX openly acknowledges it is an "entertainment" organization, not a legitimate news source.

You keep regurgitating the same old BS. Since you have more knowledge than the Trump appointed US attorney who was not replaced by Biden when Biden took office, please give us the evidence and the actual crimes committed by Joe Biden. And if you do have something, please pass it on to James Comer, he's desperately looking for anything to charge Joe Biden with so impeachment can proceed, keeps saying that he has something, and just like you comes up with nothing. You believe the lies of Trump, Marjorie Taylor Green, and other pathological liars over actual evidence. And if actual evidence that Joe Biden committed a crime is ever discovered and documented, he, just like Trump, should be prosecuted.

Good to know you, like Trump, advocate violence. Of course, Trump advocates violence but is actually a chicken snot coward who dodged the draft and is scared of his own shadow, but wants others to pledge their "loyalty" to him by committing acts of violence or threatening to do so. He is happy to give out names of people he wants his cult puppets to harass and to threaten violence against, while he's being protected by the Secret Service. Trump, the coward who called our military members "suckers and losers" and tried his best to overthrow our government. And speaking of "crap" that you called some liberals, its being reported that Trump's lawyers are dying from the stench that surrounds Trump while he sits all day in the courtroom and sleeps.

Interesting reading.

Believe most have tried to be civil, but seems we have degenerated into our respective bunkers as is true of the country. Sad state of affairs.

Not voting for either of these guys. One is a lying, egomaniac that stretches the law to the max: the other a befuddled lying, old man that wasn't very bright in his prime. (Did his uncle really get eaten by cannibals? Really, its hard to make this crap up.)

Why after 8 years of Biden as his VP did Obama support Hillary as his successor? He knew the man! A direct quote attributed to Obama by multiple members of his inner circle says it all, "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to F up anything."

See Afghanistan withdrawal.
See border security.
See inflation.
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

Regardless of who wins, it is going to be a very rough 4 years.

Entertaining response, maybe you can share more about your thoughts on DT if anyone other than you gives a sh#t. No doubt you missed the discussion on my post regarding the lefts manipulation of the legal, FBI, and DOJ actions to influence elections which no one has offered a rebuttal only attacks on the GOP candidate or other miscellaneous congressional theatrical political retaliatory BS. Due to the death of his son, Biden was never a candidate in 2016. Maybe that's why Obama endorsed Hillary.

Too bad. Even a terrible candidate like Hillary still beat Fatso by three million votes and would have been a better president by a factor of 10.

Are you kidding? Biden has been running for Prez since 1988 when he had to drop out for plagiarizing a speech from a British pol. Used Beau's death as cover once it became apparent Obama favored Hillary over him.

Still, a shame his uncle was eaten by cannibals.

What a terrible way to die- to choke on a Biden. It wouldn't be the last time a Biden caused someone to gag and spit-up food.

This has to be the dumbest thing Biden has ever said.
Dunno. The walking gaffe machine has made a lot of equally baffling statements over decades.

Hate to say it, but he is undoubtedly the dumbest President in my life time and there isn't even a close second. Intellectually absent. Buffoonish.

At the next state dinner in the Whitehouse, the Chicom President Xi will lean over to his subordinate and say... "I bet his uncle tasted like chicken."
I will not claim Joe is on top of his game, but he is still ahead of his opponent IMHO.

I went back and listened to his actual statement, certainly could be implied as you say "eaten by cannibals". What he said was plane went down in area known to be populated by cannibals (true fact at the time) and the body was never found, Sounds to me to be the tale of a grieving family to explain the inability to locate the body, Joe and the family may have repeated it so many times they (Joe) may believe it to be true.

Much better than Trumps many Russian connections. This is limited but one of many reports of his questionable Russian connections. https://www.timesofisrael.com/kgb-groomed-trump-as-an-asset-for-40-years-former-spy-says/

Wood, listened to a NPR hour devoted to the 14th Amendment today with its interpretations over the decades by the Supreme Court. So interesting. Was on the road, but could not turn it off when parked in the garage. Highly recommend it to you. All their stuff is available on line.

Still, stand by my previous post regarding the Shelby/Holder case. Rightly decided IMO.

Somewhat off topic for this thread, but wanted to give credit to Mike Johnson and the 101 Republicans in the House who defied Trump, Marjorie Taylor Green and the other pro Putin members and voted for the aid to Ukraine. Its disturbing that 112 Republicans voted against it but credit to Johnson and the others for having the courage to defy Trump. I'm certainly no admirer of Johnson, who assisted in Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election, but he apparently changed his mind on Ukraine funding after meeting with the CIA director. Now the pro Putin faction will more than likely try to have him removed as the Speaker simply because he brought the legislation to the floor for an actual vote. As he said "you face the consequences but you do the right thing".

Agree with kudos to Mike Johnson. Showed rare political courage by doing the right thing regardless of the personal consequences.

Do differ on characterizing the Nay votes on Ukraine as pro-Putin. Believe their points are: 1) we are dumping huge sums of money into a country with a reputation as corrupt with little accountability on how it is spent and 2) the higher priority should be securing our own border rather than a foreign one thousands of miles away. Personally, believe our Ukraine efforts are the right policy.

As to a previous post where I characterized Biden as "the dumbest Prez in my lifetime", regret the wording. Should have said the "least intelligent". Truly believe this.

His cannibal story is totally whacky. First off, his uncle was not a pilot: he was a passenger. Second off, the plane was not shot down, it experienced engine failure and crashed into the ocean by all official records. His penchant for these types of farcical stories is baffling.

And no, not criticizing Biden to elevate Trump who I find unfit for office. The lawfare campaign is troubling and mostly unfair to my mind so may chime up on that from time to time, but please don't mistake me as a supporter. His denial of his 2020 defeat, stirring of the pot resulting in January 6 is a bridge too far for me. Policy wise, he was more good than bad for the average American.

KE, can agree with most but your last statement. I believe he helped the wealthy, but did little for average American.
