How about that Spyder gear? I think it’s even made in the USA.

Funny you should mention that... I heard somewhere that U of R was sued by Spyder and guess what???? They lost. The only gear that U of R can have just a spider on is for athletes only. Take a look around and you will notice there is always the word "Spiders" "UofR" or Richmond under every single spider logo.

pfft. it's not even the same kind of spider.

Never understood that one. I feel like we should have sued them first. That company didn’t even exist until 1978! Who the hell was on our legal team, anyway? Huge fail.

Baby Shark is a badly flawed song. If the sharks are hunting, why would they then run away? They are the hunters, not the hunted. Furthermore, they cannot "run" away, as they a) have no legs and b) live in water. We should stop using this abomination of a song at once.

Who invited literal guy over here.

It's called "dilution." Check out the case where Victoria's Secret sued Victor's Secret and won.

Well Victoria's Secret should beat Victor's Secret every time. Every. Time.

UR should have hired you BW. It is so aggravating to not be able to even buy a hat with only the spider logo on the front. It would say Richmond or Spiders on the back anyway.

Rather than fight them - why not try to partner with them? That would have been my approach. They make primarily winter gear clothing and UR is primarily filled with students from the cold northeast. Why not make Spyder the offical supplier of all cold weather Spider gear in the UR bookstore. Hats, gloves, winter coats, etc.

Wish we did something like, after every 3 we make, have some student athletes from their respective sports toss balls and shirts into the stands. Could have lax bros tossing papa johns balls from their sticks, tennis players with their racquets etc. Have each team get 1-2 home games a season. People stand up and cheer for that stupid ball blaster more than they do the team when they make a big play....why not combine both? It would also bring more students(and student-athletes) to the games I feel like.

Every time we make a three, we should launch t-shirts directly at the opposing team's coaching staff.

Checking the scores tonight I saw the GW box score -- how did I miss that Jameer Nelson Jr. plays for them!? Makes me feel old because it feels like just yesterday when St. Joe's had that crazy undefeated regular season.

Jameer Nelson is age 37 - was at St. Joe's 2000-2004 - 2003-04 was the undefeated regular season - which was not that long ago........

That's actually a really good idea to keep leveraging the student athletes to toss t-shirts and balls. Drives their attendance and could cross promote their games as well. I'd also add - why not show some highlights from their games during half time and time outs. Call it the "The Spiders Sports Minute". I'll mention it to some folks I know in the RC and hopefully we can make it happen.

because they're pretty much all in their off-season during basketball season.

Not true. Women's field hockey and men's football were still playing at the start of the season. Women's basketball is clearly playing now, women's swimming and diving is competing now, lacrosse and tennis start in January, baseball in February. There's plenty of opportunities to show highlights from these sports, and do overviews or promos of the others.
