No game tonight?

K, you are cementing my point. Your zealous dislike of CM prevents you from considering there are possibilities as to why he's not playing that have nothing to do with ability. Do you really think the only reason he's not playing is because all of a sudden CM didn't like his play?
I don't dislike Mooney at all, however he is very childish. He shows us that every game with his "handshake/no handshake" display every time a kid comes off the floor. I am also sure that whatever problem Mooney has with Pistol isn't because of his ability to play. Something else going on there.

Put your asymmetrical thinking caps on, There's a reason JP hasn't been playing and blaming CM isn't the answer here.

I won't defend why PF hasn't seen the floor but im optimistic he will contribute next year.

The fact of the matter is that we don't know why JP is not playing. Unless the facts are known, then there could be one or more explanations and blaming CM can't be dismissed. I enjoy your posts but just disagree here. If you have information to support your statement, then please share with us.

SpiderGuy, agree 100%. Really is tiring to hear so many ignorant accusations. Think most of us come on the messageboard to learn what is going on with the Spiders and discuss the facts. This kind of thing contributes nothing to the knowledge base. Just my humble opinion. OSC

I am being obtuse intentionally, you can of course disregard my post as speculation if you so choose.

Tbone, I believe you and are of the same opinion on this and also bring deliberately obtuse. Last night sealed the deal on my hypothesis. I believe we will all have our answer in due time.

Why is our bench so thin? No injuries and the team looks exhausted. Could it be that Mooney has no patience with players that can't be starters? Could it be he always hoping to free up a scholarship in hopes of landing another KA?

We don't go to the bench much, but even in our own league St. Bonaventure, La Salle and GW use their benches even less. Other teams that utilize their bench less than us include Oklahoma, Iowa State, Duke, Wisconsin, Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Yet he gives a scholarship to a walk on player and basically doesn't play him.

I get that, but it's not a relative thing. I for one only care about our bench & the impacts of what's going on with our team.

Ulla, you are certainly one of the most positive posters on this board, and I don't believe anyone here takes your opinions as worthless because they don't rise to that level...
(kidding, of course, with respect to the last phrase). Truly, though, you, along with SpiderFan1, 32Counter, SFSpider and a few others (though not all of whom necessarily qualify as OSC members) deserve the highest level of regard on this board, and you (all of you, i.e., yall) are the best at providing us youngsters with welcomed information about not only our sports programs, but also information on many other aspects of the University. It is welcomed and appreciated by all of us. So thank you and others, especially the OSC members, for that.

I have many years to go before I can join the OSC, but I do appreciate your opinions and those by others in the OSC. I like your humor and respect your intellect, and I marvel at some of the hidden gems that you and others are able to discover and post here. IMO, one of the best, is the post about the girl from Rwanda being accepted at UR which I would earn my vote for post of the year.

But that said, I, along with others on this board, sometimes struggle with the acronyms used here. I specifically recall a few weeks ago that after being frustrated with not knowing what "OSC" stood for, I spent over an hour going back over posts to find its meaning.

So a suggestion: Take the foregoing quote and make it the "signature" to your posts (not just “OSC,” but the full quote) because not only is it funny, but also it can be helpful in eliminating confusion to people like me or newer or occasional readers of this board and will save us time in having to figure out, look up or otherwise discover the meaning of your acronym.

You may already know this, but you can go to your profile page and enter the above quote as your "signature" and thereby educate and amuse the new or occasional readers and/or posters on this board who read your posts as well as save yourself the necessity of having to write out "OSC = Old Spiders Club. Makes it easy for people to detect and avoid worthless opinions of those over 65” with each of your posts since it will then always show up in the reply box when you prepare your future posts. Like I said, just a suggestion.

That would be an unfortunate matchup for us.
Well with
Fordham 6-10
Duquesne 5-11
SLU 5-11
UMass 5-11
And all 4 having one tough game but
SLU & UMass also play LaSalle
and Fordham & Duquesne play each other in Pittsburgh.
So if Dukes win they become seed 9, until there is a 4 way tie at 6-12...

What a jerk. Giving a guy a free year of education instead of eating the scholarship instead. More evidence of how childish Mooney is. You guys are so right!
The point was made in reference to a prior post in which someone indicated "Could it be he always hoping to free up a scholarship in hopes of landing another KA?" - meaning that if he already has a a scholarship available he wouldn't have to hope for someone to leave the team to have that scholarship for someone coming in.

Yes I want to say OSC OSC OSC.Hell ia whAT THIS osc I think PF will BE good PIVOT as long as TJ coaches him and Coach stays away cOACH is like garlic to Dracula for pivot offense. It is good TJ comes weith his own pivot moves.
strongly disagree, coach. yes, TJ came with a nice repertoire of post moves. he was well coached early. but he's a ton better than when he got here. a ton. it's ridiculous to not give the staff any credit on that. he was a kid scoring 8 ppg for Niagara. now he's one of the best big men in the A10 and I'd put his footwork and passing up against any big in the country.

Whatever happened with Pistol won't be a feather in Mooney's cap. It's not good to blatantly screw over a crowd favorite.
screw over? when did it become every freshman's God given right to get playing time. holy cow.

I think we know what DT was and is, not a post player. His handle has never been very good and he has been relegated to being a largely non-offensive threat passing the ball around the perimeter.

I'm not sure why I'm going to defend a guy who is gone, but ANO was a different case. He was averaging 9.9ppg in the 7 games leading up to his injury last year. 83% of those points were inside the arc/paint. I think his post game was coming along well and I think he would have had a really nice year here this year had he not left.

Both TA and TJ have developed tremendously as post players, I don't buy the argument that we can't develop big guys. I think they are slower projects by nature too.

We have 7 player with over 500 min. the next one is JJ 140 and all those have come recently. GW has 6 over 500 the next three have 422,276,140. RI has 7 over 500 the next 394. Playing with 7 regulars in rotation may be ok but we don't get much of anything below that.
