No game tonight?

TA plays the 4/5 in college and has an NBA level 4/5 skill set. He would have to play the 3 in the NBA, but I don't think he has an NBA level 3 skill set. That is the biggest obstacle to him making it to the NBA, and might be the reason he has been taking so many 3s recently (trying to prove he has the range to be play at the 3).

Questioning someone's passion and work ethic, especially student athletes who devote the best years of their lives to working day in and day out on their game, is a low blow.
I agreed with the announcer that I don't think TA has the killer instinct to bring it every night for 82 games. He certainly hasn't had it for 4 years here.

That layup instead of a big dunk late in the game is a prime example of little killer instinct from Terry. Same true for a lot of our guys many games. Particularly on the road you have to slam those dunks to demoralize the home team AND quiet any crowd (even though sounded like it was quiet there anyway). I'm sure at next level (probably in Europe) different voices will more than likely create a monster; just wish we'd seen it for 4 years here.
Are you qualified to make such an evaluation? Why not let it play out? A couple of games ago at the RC, a pro scout sat in front of me. His notes were quite favorable regarding TA. Can you guys try, really try, to be more positive? Mmm OSC

Minutes before this game -

7 with 500 plus and

JJ 130/78 A-10
JP 104/8 A-10

Moran 27/17
PF 25/3
Kirby 5/0
KD 1/0

In the one offensive possession he was on the floor PF made a very good move. I thought he was TJ for a second, I was like 'why did Mooney leave TJ in the game?' I may need glasses. Right now PF has TJ and TA in front of him, two of the best front court players in the A10. Let us hope that the reason he hasn't seen much time is because of who is in front of him and trust that he will be able to play when he is needed.

I thought it was TJ also. Had to be a very efficient night for PF !! :)

Glad we won, tonight, we needed it very much. The radio post game with Terry was special. You can tell how special this is to him, when B&B mentioned Senior night on Tuesday he began to have more problems speaking. Terry is a great kid, a fantastic Spider, and I hope we show him a tremendous amount of love on Tuesday night. He deserves every bit of it.

Not buying that theory. For a team that only plays 7, I doubt that a few quality minutes are being held from PF because TJ & TA are in front of him. I just think its typical Mooney & the way he handles players. I really hope PF helps us big time next year because we will need big guys. He certainly looks like he can play.

I will certainly be there Tuesday night cheering and thanking all 4 seniors.

If you have ever paid attention to TA when he speaks you have to like the guy. I believe he wants to play in the league, but if he does not, I hope he finds a great spot in Europe and makes a TON of money. He's one I will be very sorry to see graduate.

+1

I didn't take the announcers statement that TA lacks a killer instinct as a dig on him. Terry is a great player but he doesn't play with flair/edge/above the rim to his game that you need to have to play in the NBA. Great player and he will have a long and wealthy career in Europe.

Yes I want to say OSC OSC OSC.Hell ia whAT THIS osc I think PF will BE good PIVOT as long as TJ coaches him and Coach stays away cOACH is like garlic to Dracula for pivot offense. It is good TJ comes weith his own pivot moves.

I didn't take it as a dig either, just an honest assessment.

How can he look like he can play after one minute in a BS game. Hope he can but am not counting on it.
I'm basing my observation based upon the Wake game where he got some quality minutes & played with several starters. He looked like he knew what to do, contributed, and didn't do anything to not deserve more minutes. He looks like he can play, and hopefully he'll get a shot which he didn't this year. Probably could have done as well as some who got plenty of minutes. Go figure...we get killed under the boards...maybe the big guy could have helped this year but not given the chance. Based upon what we've seen this year, I think it's fair game to question CM. The record, defense, rebounding, and 2nd chance points given away speak for themselves.

If Jesse not playing garbage minutes tonight didn't tell you something, perhaps you need to think about it a bit more.
Whatever happened with Pistol won't be a feather in Mooney's cap. It's not good to blatantly screw over a crowd favorite.

Put your asymmetrical thinking caps on, There's a reason JP hasn't been playing and blaming CM isn't the answer here.

I won't defend why PF hasn't seen the floor but im optimistic he will contribute next year.

No doubt Mooney is blameless. Must be Climate Change or Trump's fault.

I can think of a few possibilities that would not be Mooney's doing and which Jesse would know...

It is very likely we are 8th.
If SLU loses to ST Joe tomorrow they fall below. That leaves...
URI who we can pass for 7th if they lose 2 and we win 2.
And Fordham who can pass us for 8th if we lose 2 and they win 2.

Spiders played a good game. For Christ's sake, give our guys and coaches some credit. OSC
Super win against a tremendously skilled Dukes team. Coaching? Masterful as usual. We had our opponents on their heels throughout with our multiple offense and defense sets Bravo!!!!!! Oh, I forgot, Davis and Taylor hit the rim on all their shots (I think) so there's that. All in all, our cup runneth over!!!
My only mild, mild criticism would be- How can the "coach" with the season hanging in the balance as it is, in a tough game on the road against such a challenging opponent, how can the "coach" take the chance with a 16 point lead and an eternity of 47 seconds left, how can he take the chance putting in two guys who haven't played in so long their uniforms have cemented themselves to the bench?

Well all's well that ends well and these guys (the 47 second subs) are now completely ready for the upcoming conference tournament and all that follows. Again, well done!!!!!!!!!
How's that, Lulu?

Bob Black? Is that you?

Spiders played well tonight. D was improved and the O was good as it has been most of the year. Let's get in a groove heading into the conference tournament and see what happens. Will also say that we are catching UD at the right time. We typically beat them at home anyway. The game that scares me is at Mason.

K, you are cementing my point. Your zealous dislike of CM prevents you from considering there are possibilities as to why he's not playing that have nothing to do with ability. Do you really think the only reason he's not playing is because all of a sudden CM didn't like his play?

I do not think that the ONLY reason JP is not playing has to do with the fact that "CM didn't like his play. That could not be the case because anyone with 2 eyes can see that Jesse P has basketball potential, especially for a true freshman. The fact that he has been glued to the bench has little or nothing to do with ability or his potential.

Even Mooney liked Jesse P's upside in preseason. He was early off the bench for a few games, getting some minutes, and then BAM he hits the wall. This makes it pretty clear that there is some personal problem. We just do not know what the "IT" is between he & Mooney.

Not a Homer, I agree. Just as I found it odd, that CM played KoVien a minute in a game, to cost the kid a year of eligibility. CM is playing walkons, and not JP for a reason, quite aside from ability. CM has matured as a person, since becoming our coach, but I think he has more growing up to do. The players are young, the coach is full grown.
