And yes, Stork has been good too. Maybe not the cut to the chase analysis you provide, but some good and detailed reporting for sure.
I understand your point but recruiting someone who doesn’t stay in school is roughly equivalent to recruiting a guy who signs elsewhere. To be fair, we hit on Buck, Sherrod and Grant in one class. Then gilyard and Cayo in the next (I thought Cayo showed real promise last year, and showed very good defending and athletic ability).
Also, Sal is one of our highest “rated” recruits we’ve had, and I admitted that I am optimistic on Woj.
I think you ignoring Buck in your assessment of classes isn’t fair to the recruiting, as well as Cayo (though admittedly to a lesser extent).
So by my count, we are at 2.5 solid players per recruiting class.

Cayo has promise but hasn’t played nearly enough minutes nor contributed enough statistically to qualify as a recruiting hit.
Of note, I am not saying he or any of those other guys are misses. They are unknown. So I’d stand by my quantitation as of today. Ask me again in February and I hope to calculate differently.
To clarify, I’m not saying Buck was a miss. All I’m saying is we need 2 guys per year to be competitive and as of today, I think we have 3 proven and a lot unproven. I would hope to heaven that we have at least six by February.I hear ya. But as for Buck, he gave 2 very good years for us. I don’t think that’s like someone who signs else where. If he had left for the NBA after 2 years, we wouldn’t consider him a miss. I would equate it to a player who didn’t have an impact until his junior and senior year. Buck just did it in reverse.
Fair on Cayo. I’ve been disappointed with his offensive game (especially finishing at the rim). But he’s also helped turn some games late with defense, when grant sat, Cayo played, and we played fast and athletic with a press. See him as a contributor right now, hopefully something more.
And I too hope your calculation changes by February!
Yes Oldie, you had some very astute observations from last pre-season. Thanks for being our local "eyes". Will be interesting to see how the new group looks when you can catch a work out. I will be particularly interested to see how Woj, Sal, and Cayo look. Those guys will be big keys. I admit to being one of the so called bad guys on here, according to board neonatals ply and 47. I do feel like you are one of the straightest shooters we see in these parts.
