NC State 12/17

I was optimistic for about 15 years or so going back to the previous board, but moon dog won this battle about 5-6 years ago. Yes, there are other mediocre coaches like state, but we have our guy and he does not get arrested and usually only has one or two glaring holes on the roster, so how can we expect more?

what do u think about our board
MBs are a lot of the same, just interject your team name here😀. We are all very passionate and have our likes and dislikes. I too was like a lot on this board(UNC fan) before Dji started being recruited. As I got older and got to know different kids that are at schools I changed, matured or whatever you call it 😂 Nothing wrong with expressing our opinions. I draw the line at personal attacks but there is a difference between that and criticizing a player, which I think is ok. I enjoy this board, a little too much 😂 as I have spit my beverage out or lol several times. 😀🕷🏀

Dad, we have had a couple parents of players join the board over the years. Almost all of those experiences were disasters, for the parents (Terry Allen's mom, comes to my, woo boy that didn't go well) who chose to post, and I think some of it got blown back on their kids. So, generally, I would recommend that any parent/caregiver/close friend of a player stay way away from the message board.

That said, you have been a welcome addition and bring a great voice and perspective. I really enjoy your perspective and inside scoop you can provide from practice, but I'm sure also knowing stuff that needs to be kept quiet and not shared on this board. You can straddle the bridge of knowing the players personally and yet not take what is said on here personally about any of them. I think a lot of us recognize the tight line you have to walk though as a parent of a player on a fan message board.

Yes sir… well stated and thank you. It def is a tightrope but I believe I can take almost anything 😀. Anybody with kids know when you hear negative things then we automatically go into defense mode. But being a former school coach and being around the game at a high level I get a lot of the things the general fan complains about. Hearing people talk about our son in terms of negative critiques about his game is hard sometimes but also may be true, as long as those stay in a bball related critique I’m ok with it. Example on the State MB during our game , fans started attacking the kids bc of their hair which to me was way out of line and comes from a nasty place. People whether it’s here or out and about don’t have a full grasp on what the kids put into getting to this level and how hard they work once they are here. I know what my son does in terms of working on his game but a lot/most don’t….with any player, so their idea of what they “think” they may know isn’t prob true & that goes for any of us, me included when critiquing other players. That said, I enjoy the boards, love the game, as a parent want my child to shine and play every minute, but it’s D1 🏀 and I def understand most guys can’t play all min esp on a team with veteran guys but as I tell Dji…God put you here for a reason, keep your faith, and Cont to work hard and you will reach your goals. Now let’s go beat the breaks off of Bucknell and take the A10‼️🕷🏀

probably helps that nobody here has much negative to say about Dji at all, if anything we want more!

Dad I noticed a couple times in last two games, Dji favoring his foot or ankle a little when going off court.
But jogging back in to play. Is his injury mild? I assume. Enjoy your Christmas with him home.

There is a cautionary tale.
You were not here during the Billboard time period. Someone purchased an advertisement advocating the immediate removal of Coach Mooney. The personal attacks on the coaches and players were extensive and unfounded. Any discussion of basketball was drowned out by a destructive chorus from the Fire Mooney Mafia. Several on this board taunted fans who expressed support for our team and its players. Several were kicked off of this forum. The entire episode was a national embarrassment for the University, our coach and our team. Please remember this.

Think that is hyperbole ....as much as we "love' Spider basketball and all things related to it Spider basketball is missing from most people's list of things to be thinking about.

Spider Dad - can't let that pass without comment....what sound advice ...God does have a reason for everything and keeping the faith and working hard is what life is all about! There is a need for more fathers to encourage their sons and daughters the way you are encouraging yours!

You guys are still up and arms over the embarrassment of a billboard that was up for like 2 days and not the fact that we haven't sniffed the NCAA tournament in well over a decade have got your priorities all messed up.

And if memory serves me the people that we're kicked off this board was the pro Mooney crowd, cause they couldn't abide by the terms for civil discourse of the board.

You know why you shouldn’t take anything personally? Because we don’t really know what we are talking about as casual fans. We love this team, watch every game and hope they do well, but in the end you can discount every opinion we have.
I enjoy your posts and perspective and you keep doing you!

I like Mooney and I liked the billboard as well. I think when you accept the position and a $1 million salary, you open yourself up to public criticism. I was just surprised at the time that there were enough passionate Spider fans to make this happen.

Well said LI, the Mooney do no wrong crowd can't seem to separate a basic sentiment that he is under achieving the 1.3 mil contract in a big way and fans want a change. You can still like Mooney the nice person, ok coach and want a change. I think much of the issue stems from the fact that we have had terrible leadership at the AD level during this run, so Mooney gets a free pass.

See how much anger there is below the surface. I kicked open a hornets nest to illustrate my point. The billboard accomplished nothing, except to humiliate our coach. The student who paid for the billboard (no thinking adult would have done that) should have instead donated the $10,000 to a food bank or a homeless shelter.

Student? This is a new narrative I’m unaware of…

14-point home loss to #299? They’re going to killed in the NET tomorrow morning.

Ah…but there is a difference between opinions and facts and stats. There is no dancing around facts and no dancing around long time no dancing.
