I mean, I'm guessing you didn't listen. Because he said exactly this. Something like, "we talk about [postseason], but it doesn't impact the most important thing, which is to prepare and put ourselves in the best position to win on Saturday, and then try and do that again for the next game after that."What ever happened to taking it one game at a time? That is every coaches golden rule. This guy is an embarrassment to Princeton. What a moron.
You are probably right, but, what if? One game at a timeMooney said this to sell tickets. Selling a dream that won't happen this year. Currently 11-7 and not going anywhere. We aren't winning at VCU and more than likely losing at Rhode Island. So stop telling lies. Selling a fantasy.
But thats talking from both sides of your mouth. The two dont go together… duh. You cant one second say we are talking about the ncaa (meaning wishing, hoping, think what it will take, etc.) and then say but we are going to prepare for each game.I mean, I'm guessing you didn't listen. The flip side of "5th and 6th year seniors" is that all of the A10 coaches have been scouting, scheming, and playing against this Richmond team for so long, they know exactly how to play against each 5th and 6th year players.......not to mention the 17 years they've been watching Mooney. This is about as "stacked" as a team could be with 6 year seniors and 5th year men. Still can't win...this has to get him fired.
Do you mean something like, "Our goals are to win the A-10, advance to the NCAA tournament, and win games in the tournament. But to get there, the only way is to prepare for each and every game as if it is the most important, and take it one day, one practice, one game at a time."But thats talking from both sides of your mouth. But thats not whats happening. They think about making the NCAA tournament and talk about it regularly and have since day one. Yes of course was/its the goal, but it should be “yes, we have made the ncaa our goal of course but we never talk about that because we the only way to get there is to take it one game at a time.” No… “yes the guys are talking about the ncaa.” What??? Maybe that has been the problem for two years moondog.Do you mean something like, "Our goals are to win the A-10, advance to the NCAA tournament, and win games in the tournament. See, I did it. They do go together. Duh.
with glass half full of SlivovitzSince the Bahamas tournament we have won 9 of 12. Granted the A10 opening game was a disaster and I think the taste of that loss has not completely worn off. I don’t believe we have a legit at-large chance but a top four finish in the A10 should give us an opportunity to make a run in the tournament. And yes I know history does not serve us well.
Guess I’m trying to look at this as “glass half full”,
