Fire Mooney

St. Joe's and St. Louis have recovered nicely from their dismissal of esteemed coaches. I never thought St Joe's would recover from firing Phil Martelli.
 
Isn't a better (and more likely to be successful) approach to convince him to step down? It's evident he doesn't like the status quo of college basketball, and this board has already suggested he could follow Tony Bennett and Jay Wright because of the changes in the sport. So maybe someone should suggest that he take a break for a few years. Surely we can find or create a different position for him if he doesn't want to leave the university or the city.
 
Retire, fire, moving on to other endeavors. I don't care what wording they use. As long as Mooney is leading this program, we are stuck in this perpetual cycle of mediocrity, with a few highs, but much longer extended lows.
Mediocrity would be a big improvement at this point.
