I don’t think a couple hundred season ticket holders not renewing would make anyone stand up and notice. If the decision was primarily about money they wouldve parted ways long ago because we aren’t earning ncaa units and arguably to save money on CM salary.

Sad that’s the case. UPitt alumni made a big stink a few years ago and went out and hired an up and coming female AD. Starting to pan out in football.

Totally agree - don't think admin cares -

Reasons for continuing to buy season tickets and attend every game:
• You are a masochist;
• You are delusional and think we actually have a chance to be great;
• You enjoy handing your money over to people for no reason;
• You don't care if we win or lose because you're only going for entertainment purposes, and you love being entertained by bad coaching and mediocre basketball;
• You hate your family and want to get away from them for a few hours;
• You hate your family and want to subject them to misery by bringing them with you to games;
• You hate your kids and just want to let them run around for two hours with minimal supervision;
• You don't understand how basketball is supposed to played;
• You are related to the players or coaches;
• Your life is incredibly boring and anything is better than staying home.

I can check lots of those boxes. Don't forget "you live in dream land" or maybe that is considered being "delusional." I'll look for you at the next game!

You forgot “stale popcorn” and “unfortunate switch to Pepsi products”.

Get paid by the hour to just pretend to care about this program

Make zero changes just compete might get a win.

Believe Mooney is a great promoter in the community he is a nice guy.

Continue to pay Joe Lunardi and media to promote Mooney

Somehow disguise his .500 record on tv

I also forgot:
• You enjoy sampling moderately overpriced IPAs in public on a Tuesday night.

Chalk this up to "pep talk" and hopefully "encouragement'

Tough to ditch our years long season ticket habit ..and we try to remember the good things -
1) The venue is better than the Arena and easier to get to..
2) We have good friends we usually only see in person at the Robins Center. Most of the fans of the Spiders and the visiting teams - with one exception - are pleasant and nice to talk with.
3) The basketball is similiar to what we saw as students - being close to .500 was an accomplishment.
4) Our expectations are low so disappointment is mimimal. On the occasions we do win we can be surprised and ecstatic.
5) Dick Tarrant was once our coach - a man we admire for many reasons: a Marine, a no nonsense coach who produced, and we enjoyed talking with him when we had the chance.
6) We can dream - all things are possible - and someday it is theoretically possible we will again have a coach like Tarrant. (alright no holding your breath or pollyanna comments on that one, but admit seems pollyannish at this point!)

I wanted to let you know that I did appreciate your thoughtful reply here and made me feel a little less crazy ha!

Mooney won't be around forever, that helps get me through.
