I attempted to purchase some Spider gear at the game for my kid. I was told that UR was not allowed to sell Spiders products at the game. They were only allowed to sell items with the NCAA logo on them. They said it was not a UR game, but an NCAA game. That is one of the most asinine rules I ever heard.

Never heard that one. This was at the Dpider shop in the stadium?
Yes. They had all of the Spider gear in boxes in the corners and they refused to sell any of it. They told me I had to go to the bookstore. Somehow, I think if this had been UVA or Texas the policy would have been different.

Strangely, after the game I was going to purchase a couple of shirts from a fellow outside the stadium, when an officer came up and began interrogating him. We moved on; not sure what followed. OSC

We bought some of his contraband pregame. The shirt already has a tear in it ... very high quality material.

It's a playoff game which is why everything was supposedly "neutral". No advertising banners around the field. No Spider programs (only $8 programs from the NCAA). No silly stuff going on during media timeouts. Even the videos were stock NCAA videos. I'm not surprised at any of this. As far as UVA or Texas, they wouldn't host an FCS playoff, so you're right there wouldn't be this problem.
