Mens - @ Auburn who will be #2 in the nation - Sun 12/8 noon - SEC network

If we keep this within 20, that will be a overperformance.
Major overperformance. If we played them 100 times this year, I'd be surprised if that happened once. We are just that bad, and they happen to be very good. It's more about us, though. This is a very unusually bad team. We will lose many A10 games by more than 20.

Great, now we're going to have an angry Auburn team at home. I am amending my anticipated spread to Auburn -26.5.

Exhibit A on his being a good speaker. He talks for 45 seconds straight, yet says really nothing noteworthy at all. Well, I know I am stoked about playing the number 2 team in the country this weekend after listening to that.

Interesting, considering it seemed from here on the message board that this was in question for quite a while after the original rumor.

"Just playing and competing against the best is great." There's Mooney in a nutshell. It's really a perfect quote for him, so I'm not shocked that he said it.

He's basically saying: "We'll just be happy to step on the same court as a good team." Not: "We're going down there to try every way we know how to win a game against a great team."

I had an unexpected work trip that popped up that I had to cover for a coworker who was sick leading into the Thanksgiving holiday which we then took a trip out of state to be with my wife's family for that so I have been a little off the grid for Spiders hoops, it was surprisingly easy given how this season has been going.

But now I am back and ready to be hurt again! Auburn is going to be looking for a punching bag after how the Duke game went, heaven help us.

Perhaps the Spiders can bow to all of the Auburn players during the starting line-up introductions, then hoist the mighty Bruce Pearl upon their shoulders for a quick walk around the court after the game ends.

Interesting to see more changes to the starting 5. I think I like this iteration. We shall see

18-36, pretty close to our 34-17 in ‘84. Kinda sorta…

How many cross court passes to a wide open 3 point shooter can we give up in one game? Has happened about 15 times so far.

Hard to even be upset though. The talent gap is so wide. We are so bad.

When good teams start getting technicals because they're clowning your team/program in-game, it tells you something.

I saw nothing unexpected the first half.

20 years of data says that Moonball offense doesn't work against aggressive, athletic defenses. And it doesn't. Centers got pushed well past 3 point line, guards couldn't make clean passes bc of the pressure and there was no adjustment. No backdoor opportunities, just Beagle dribbling 25 times.

Defensively, double a big man and leave wide open 3s? Sure whatever. Our small guards had zero effect on them shooting the ball on the close outs.

Wildly less athletic than Auburn, less size, less organization and intent on both ends of the court.

All expected.

Moonball.

Way to hang with them in the first half. Just need a little extra juice in the second half and we’ve got this.
We just need to hold the second half to 31-35 to beat the spread of 29.5

I really can't look at this anymore. Classic train wreck. Looks like wins will be hard to come by this season.
