There has been no one more critical of Grace's play on this board than I have, so I have to give him credit when credit was due. That was a hell of game he played last night. The three balls were nice but the center on the team needs to butter his bread in the paint. I was particularly down on Grace because he seemed to avoid the paint like the plague on offense. And then I sit and watch Grace show us a variety of moves inside against some quality BCS big men last night, that he was able to finish. And I'm like hot damn, where has that been.

I'll leave this with a bit of a golf analogy. As someone who is a mid 90's type golfer my game is punctuated with a lot of duffs, shanks, shots that I curse after I hit them. But it is also filled with some beautiful drives, great chips, and the occasional sunk putt. And it is those shots that keep you coming back the next time.

Grace left me with that feeling last night. It's like well shit, there was some pretty sweet basketball coming from Grace last night and I kind of want to see if he can puts in the work in the offseason, particularly work in the paint and then seeing what he can do next year.

Well done, Matt Grace.

Takes a big man to make that post. And it's not your first like that. Can 110% appreciate that.
97 the other golf analogy from a fellow 20 handicapper is sometimes you hit the ball well,
but just cannot score. Matt did do well and I am not still a believer in his ability to rebound,
but his offensive skills are good. There a few open shots I wished he had taken wide open around
foul line last night.

I have seen Matt play in about 83 games the past 3 years. He was terrible in all but 3 or 4 of them. So I am not ready to give him any banners for his dorm room just yet. It will be interesting to see if he has a miracle senior season next year like a Bill Flye, Jim Shields or Mike Winiecki. He sure seems to be a nice young man and I hope he blossoms next year. Lord knows we will need him to.

Grace was rough and not ready to be a regular A10 player when he arrived. But I will say that he improved every year, and played with much more confidence when he got meaningful minutes. IF he improves more next year, I think we will be okay there.
