Don't burn his redshirt.That's my vote.If we were going to burn it,it would have been today.

I agree, we have many more injury problems than just QB. Tough break this year. Go with what's left.
My comment was in jest. But the issue with red shirting is that it often doesn't help the coach. How many are around in 5 years? And if the player is a stud you have to worry about the grad transfer rule. The NCAA effed it up.
Is Mancuso ahead of Johnson? It doesn't seem like it. Burn Johnson's shirt instead and see what he can do. I don't see how we win with Clise or Chenault.
Agree, use Johnson and see what happens. He can redshirt next year. I think that gives us the best chance to win. I do think that we still have an awfully good O line meaning we can run. Just need enough pass to keep the D honest. I think we can advance using mainly run next week. After that, we need a QB who can throw it down the field.
That being the case, I find it disturbing that Danny had several weeks to put together Plan B and admitted at halftime he none.
Then why suspend him and not kick him off the team? He's a senior so there is no next year for him.
As he exited the field at halftime , Matt Smith asked "what is Plan B". Danny responded that he didn't have one.
Fair enough. I'm not sure i take it literally. When Plan A is the best Quarterback in program history and he just tore up his knee, Plan B isn't going to be favorable, no matter what it is.

I don't know anything about Mancuso, but maybe he's not ready. Why are you sure that he is any better than Clise or the Goochland kid?
Hopefully, once reality sets in that we're in the playoffs and a new season starts tomorrow, Rocco will consider ALL of his available options. If the best option is Clise or Chenault, great. If it's Johnson, I hope he re-evaluates his thinking.

Moliva is right - we don't need all those red shirts, especially if 2017 we expect it to be Lauletta-Clise.

We have 8 quarterbacks on our roster. Only one of them is a senior, and he's apparently not being considered for reasons the coach won't even make public.
Johnson played last year, so he would not be able to redshirt again. I get the hesitation, but this is our season here. Gotta do everything possible to keep it alive. I don't think we can run our way to a victory in the playoffs with Clise at QB, and it's a big ask of Chenault to step in as a freshman walkon. Johnson was a highly regarded recruit and has two full years in the system. He can run, too. Let's see what we have here.
