yesHe's fast, he hustles, he plays defense. That already puts him ahead of the curve.
Plus I like watching him play and I can wear my "Finns up" hat....

Whoa S-man. You and I might agree. Been screaming all summer long on here that Wilson and Dji need to get the vast majority of minutes at the two because Sherod can't guard the 2. Of course, I didn't realize that not only can Sherod not guard the 2, but he pretty much can't guard (that's not a knock on Sherod, one of my favorite Spiders just a reality as to where he at with his recovery).Golden 30 / Grace 10
Cayo 20 / Burton 20
Burton 10 / Crabtree 20 / Sherod 10
Dji 20 / Zay 10 / Randolph 10
Gilly 30 / Zay 10
Solid…I liked this…hopefully the like button police won’t arrest me😀…I think Gilly playing 40 min is a problem. I personally think, give Gilly a break even if it’s at the 2 min before tv TO could get him a rest. Him playing all those min hurts the rotation in terms of the log jam at the 2. Dji or Zay can run PG for a few of those min. I like giving Marcus a shot too, I just think programs need to throw some of the young guys out there to build. I know some don’t like that idea and I know some will take that and run coach into the ground. This isn’t that…just my thoughts on how to play guys..an opinion. As people have said this year constantly…always something about Blake. He ain’t coming through those doors. Guys have to step up but can’t unless they are given opportunities. That’s at any program. When these Srs are gone and even Tyler (possibly going pro) That’s a big chunk of scoring and inexperience starting next year. Quality min this year can help that. 🕷🏀Whoa S-man. And Gilly only getting 30 minutes. Well, I would agree with that too. It's never-ever gonna happen because Mooney but maybe just maybe playing a player all 40 minutes every single night in fact does not mean you get the best for that player for all those 40 minutes. Also maybe, when a player makes multiple poor plays (which he did against Maryland), he needs a bit of break to refocus and maybe some coaching, even if he is in his mid 20's and has been in the program for forever.
I like getting Randolph some minutes. I have no idea if the kid can play or not but the results thus far indicate it certainly wouldn't hurt for us to give him some minutes.
We have called for this for 17-years. The one making the substitutions doesn't agree.Solid…I liked this…hopefully the like button police won’t arrest me😀…I think Gilly playing 40 min is a problem. Look at my posts. I like Cayo, but it’s time to try something different.Cayo has struggled but he was pretty effective last night.
we had a size advantage with Golden and Cayo and we went to it often.
Hasn't that been our brand for several years?
I agree - Nick is a great person and one of my favorite Spiders ever but he just looks uncomfortable on the court and the injuries have taken their toll. At times, it almost looks to me like he wants Coach to take him out since he realizes he is struggling to keep up on the defensive end.I like a switch at 2 with more Crabtree and Dji. Isaiah rotates in if they need more quickness on D.
If Nate gets his post game sorted out and can improve his free throw form, his minutes seem fine.
I guess I’m in the minority but I want less of nick and feel his only minutes should come when Nate is out. He’s perhaps our 2nd best 3pt threat but I think every other aspect of his game is subpar except perhaps rebounding.
Any other options on this team not playing that can give you 12 points and 5 rebounds? NopeI agree - Nick is a great person and one of my favorite Spiders ever but he just looks uncomfortable on the court and the injuries have taken their toll. Really doesn’t matter, we have no one better.Nick is shooting 34% from three and 31% overall. FG% is the lowest of his career, and 3PT% second worst of his career (barely above his freshman year). I think he’s playing about as many minutes as he should - certainly don’t think he needs more.
I actually think Crabtree could do that, honestly. And provide better D.Any other options on this team not playing that can give you 12 points and 5 rebounds? Nope
If Connor tossed up 10-12 shots I’m pretty sure that he’d convert 12 points out of it. That’s what it’s taking nick to get there.I actually think Crabtree could do that, honestly. And provide better D.
Yup, this was the lineup for much of the game tonight. I think it worked for the most part but thought we should have tried to go to Cayo more inside. You have to start Goose from here on out, right?Let’s talk some lineups. What’s your best 5? Not sure if this is the starting 5, but I’d like to see Gilly, Goose, Sherod, Burton, Grant. Cayo gets the short end of the stick but I think this gives us much more scoring and the defense doesn’t suffer. I also don’t think this hurts our rebounding much. Goose gives us more size and versatility than Wilson, and hopefully more O. Mooney really chewed out Wilson coming off the floor into a timeout after a few bad possessions from him on offense and D.
