Liberty to FBS

Don't believe we have any games scheduled against them, at least not any that were ever announced.
 
This means jmu is going pretty soon. No way they want liberty to be FBS before them.
 
Most likely within 5 years these will be the FCS schools in out Beloved Commonwealth:

Richmond
William & Mary
VMI
Hampton
Norfolk St.

Over on the Dillweed board they are going nuts over LU going FBS while their beloved Dukes remain FCS! They are in shock and I love it! Perhaps they'll still be in a coma over this while we crush 'em on Nov. 11th at the glorified Chicken Coop!
 
As an independent, who will they play? Might be tough to schedule 11 games a year, certainly a lot fewer games at home.

I'm thinking that there may be a ton of FBS schools out there looking to pad their schedule with a certain cupcake FBS win.
Wouldn't want to be the oddsmaker calculating the spread on their losses.
I wonder if Rocco now has second thoughts about leaving.

Probably not a factor.
Most fans, like most Americans with respect to church and state, believe in the separation of church and football, the notable exception being those "conservative KJV Bible believing Christians" in certain parts of our "Beloved Commonwealth."

LU has a right to be who they are, a conservative Christian university. I know that many folks hate em. I salute them for taking a conservative stand

The irrelevant "lower" FBS conferences don't offer much................ oh yeah have a so-so record and play in one of the lower bowls................if that floats your boat, go for it............
 
FRS you seem to believe people are making negative comments regarding LU's conservative christian stance, I believe you are misreading. I believe the comments are more directed, why go to a low level FBS, especially if you have no conference to go to.

The ugly comments concerning Liberty have not appeared on our board. If you go and look at "Any Given Saturday" the hate towards LU is intense.
 
I think Liberty has the money and resources to be successful at the FBS level but at the same time they never dominated our level with all the resources they have, only one playoff appearance. I think there should be rules in place about how competitive you are at the fcs level that really decide if you can move up or not.

Baylor and Wake Forest are the only FBS Baptist schools.

I have not found that true. Some remarks every now and then, but nothing rising to the level of hate. Most are directed against the leader of the school, Falwell, Jr., who is carrying on the tradition of his father, a racist homophobe.

What is the source of your confrustion? Are you confuzzled? Perhaps flusterpated or conflictious? Why do allow so many things of this nature annoyitate you?

I find the whole Liberty thing rudicrous, hilaridiculous and commusing.
Do I need to bratsplain those terms to you? Or would be a waste of time since you may be a generacist who is mysticious of one so may years your junior?
I would be willing to give it a try, but sometimes your post leave me exhaustipated. It would be seasy from my perspective, but you may just want an outlet to continue to combitch and gerontificate.

this is where they have wanted to be for decades and think it is great that they pulled the trigger. now, do i think, feel, that this is going to be some great move for them, heck no but i don't count when it comes to their decision making process. umwcah is waiting for a conference and may be waiting for a while but who knows, if uconn departs their deal, the pukes make walk in but don't think that conf is looking for a program like them. no matter, all one has to do is look at marshall to where their program will be if they make this move.

fan, you must be easy from a laugh standpoint

And if it were taken to belittle anything, it would be an age group, not an individual.

think you utilize what you feel is humor as a camouflage to hit negatively on people. certainly know what humor is when i see it or hear it.

Well ole 'last word Spinner,' there you go again. You Texassians sure are a stubborn lot. IMO, you wouldn't know humor if it granny slapped you in the face. What you call camouflage, others know as nuance and subtlety. Dull normals find it hard to pick up on those thangs. That said, I have no reason to camouflage anything with respect to you. You like a dang armadillo with impenetrable shell so no fear of reachin logic or sentiment in you. You don't got it in you noways.

As to FRS, I have been tryin my darnest to make friendly because I've been a thinkin that he means well. Just so darn emotional, that child, hard for him to hold it in, but I gits the feelin that he's a gittin it little by little. Unfortunately, not so much for you.

And, then thar's this:
As we say in ole Virginny, sometimes people say things that give a callin to be hit negatively on. In this respect, you take the cake, you sly ole possum...playing dead so's not to be eaten alive. Actually, you somewhar in tween a possum and an armadillo. You a wacky var'mit. You so ornery at times you gits a hankerin' and goes alooking for a fuss and alls you gets is nice which gits you aggervated and gits you all worked up and madder than a wet hen and makes you say thangs that are just plug-ugly and others are a thinkin that you libel ta blow a fuse in your pacemaker. Actually you are correct. I am surprised that WFU has not relegated the Demon Deacon mascot to the dust bin of history like we did to General Spidey.

While Wake Forest University is no longer controlled by the Baptists, a School of Divinity was established at WFU in 1999. The seminary is not Baptist controlled.

The Demon Deacon is not wearing a Confederate war outfit. People still respect active church members.

I am thinking that since Wake Forest is no longer a Baptist school, there are those who would want to esponge any vestage of the school's Baptist past.
