I spotted Hardt packing Huesmann's bag to put on the same bus out of town with Mooney. Thank goodness this season is over.
Not a pretty win but I'll take it after all of the close losses this season. Glad to see Lauletta and the other seniors go out with a win.
if Huessman is the defensive coach he should fire himself.
Reading the last several posts in this thread, I would not have believed we won. Celebrate!

Huesman's not going anywhere. Hardt is a good hire but I haven't heard a lot about Bucknell's football championship tradition.

Not much to celebrate, really. I think Russ was under a lot of self-induced pressure this season and played it close to the vest. Team seemed to play tight most of the time and that was evident today. I just don't like either coordinator. Hope there are changes there but am not holding my breath.

A lot of posters must by way younger than I am. Back in the day we would have been well pleased with four straight winning seasons in a row. This board sounds like we just went 2-9, not 6-5. The W&M board sounds happier tonight and they lost.
Times have changed and the expectations for us have as well. We are a top 5 FCS program right now talent wise. 6 and 5 does not cut it. I had an interesting conversation with my dad today about how beating the Indians was about the best thing he could've done when he played at UR. Now it's about winning the CAA and contending for a national title. We are blessed to be the type of program where going 6 and 5 is considered a bad year. Let's get back at it next year!

Expectations were high this year. Coach Russ admitted as much on the post-game show, that they could have been 10-1.
I am not sure we ever had 3 seasons of .500 or better in row before 2005-2007.
If so it was only twice, both before WWII if I remember my old research correctly (but very hazily).
In my 55 years of watching Spider football, this was perhaps the most under achieving team ever. And that's NOT on the players. That's why so many of us were frustrated.

Agree with many that changes need to be made as regards coordinators. OC is particularly confusing. Do not understand why with 2 minutes left in third quarter, going against wind, UR passes. Had lead, running well, so why not run? At worst, end quarter and if no first down, punt with wind. And, yes, bring back the blue helmets.
Rick, I can certainly understand your sentiment from the team we had coming back this year and Lauletta in particular. I think the defense was swimming the first half of the season with the new scheme...they finally started just "playing" and not thinking the last few weeks. I'm still not sure how much talent we have on the lines of scrimmage. Our OL was not able to get much push in the run game all season and we don't have any guys on the DL who demand double teams and can beat their man with any consistency. I'm actually optimistic about our defense next year after the last 3 games but this year was certainly a disappointment in terms of the overall talent and experience of our skill guys and our expectations coming into the season.
