“…Le Moyne’s men’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 1 nationally and is a favorite for the NCAA championship. The women’s team is ranked No. 6 nationally and is in the 12-team NCAA tournament field…”

“…Le Moyne is the sixth lacrosse-playing Division II school to transition to Division I in the last three years, joining Lindenwood (2023), Queens (N.C.) (2023), Stonehill (2023) LIU (2020) and Merrimack (2020)...”

The NEC does not sponsor men's lax and Le Moyne will only be the fifth NEC school with the sport, so still not enough for their own auto bid. LIU, Sacred Heart, and Wagner all play lax in the MAAC, while Merrimack plays in America East.

Interested to see where Le Moyne lands. AE currently has 8 schools, including Albany and Binghamton not too far from Syracuse. MAAC already has 11 schools, with Canisius and Siena in pretty close proximity.

Edit: Looks like Le Moyne says they'll need an affiliate conference or go independent for next year and then the NEC will restart men's lax in 2024–25.

They’re looking for a one-time affiliate relationship for next year. Maybe the A-10 will swipe right.
