No answer as to whether Solly has to sit out a year. No word yet about Bernard.

Just saw the article. Not a word about Bernard, but says the other two will be on this year's team.

The article in RichmondSpiders.com, says the two are on the team this year, but that's true even if Solly redshirts. That's up to NCAA, but no hurry. It is now known that Bernard will not be enrolling at UR. We have an open schollie, but too late to fill it.

SpiderK, I hope that is true. Solly will be very good for us. I was hoping that he'd not have to sit out a year, as he was not transferring from a college program, but a French U21 team. But I won't be sure until I see an official announcement.

TBS, to be honest I just got conflicting reports about Solly, so not as sure about him now. I agree with you and hope he can play. I can't verify anything about Malcolm Bernard either.

Malcolm Bernard retweeted Borzelli's tweet, that he was back in the market. So, I'm sure he's gone.

The way the UR release reads, Solly is eligible immediately. Normally, it would say specifically that he is not eligible until next year if that were the case.

To me, it either means he's immediately eligible or the appeal hasn't been ruled on yet.

Per JOC RTD

"UR also announced the signing of 6-7 Solly Stansbury, who has been playing in France for three years after attending high school in Toms River, N.J. An NCAA review will determine when Stansbury can begin using his eligibility, which is expected to be two seasons."

if Solly is eligible, that will totally offset the Bernard news from a basketball viewpoint in my opinion.
won't make it right, or any less tasteful though.

I agree. Bernard had high disappointment potential in my mind. He was a high volume shooter with a low accuracy rate. Don't think that works in Mooney's system all that well. Solly appears to have be a better fit and have a better game. But it is still one less weapon in your arsenal and was really looking forward to a full roster and deep and spiriting competition for minutes. You could tell Bernard is a competitor.

On a non basketball level though, I feel like we did Bernard wrong and that as you said, leaves a very bad taste in your mouth.

Agree with 97 here. I feel Solly is a better fit, and had a much greater probability to be a solid contributor with his skill set. BUT, I did think that Bernard had the potential to be a contributor. I like his motor, athletic ability and appeared to be a real competitor. Stinks that he is not suiting up. If Solly can play this year, that would really make me feel much better about the upcoming season.
