There is a glimmer of hope, but it'll require us beating the defending national champions at their place, who are currently undefeated and number one in the country. If we do that (and beat willam and Mary) we're in the playoffs.
If we lose, we won't get in as a 5 loss team. But as a 4 loss team who beat JMU at their place, I think the committee would have to take us.

Absolutely. This is our playoff game and we have nothing to lose.
ETT -- dukes will be favored, they will be at home, they will want to win --- BUT our advantage is that we NEED to win. One more loss and the playoff streak is over, win and we are very close to being back in the playoff after being on life support. ETT Spids!!!

I would prefer this method. It would get under Purples skin greatly, much in the same way they can’t seem to find a home in FBS. The MAC might take them, but how much could they get excited about a Friday night game in Ypsilanti in October?

Last I saw we were giving 16 to you guys, so Mo was right. Really looking forward to this game, we're lucky to have such a heated rivalry. I would say no JMU fan is overconfident as we know what Lauletta can do. Your D will need to play like it did against Nova to shut our offense down, though. Hope anybody coming up has safe travels. Go Dukes!
Looks like it is up to 19.5 now. I sort of left some wiggle room on my prediction there, hoping it would be close to 2 td's but fearing it might be closer to 3 td's.
The best thing about being undefeated and #1, is being undefeated and #1. The worst thing is that at some point you will lose and get knocked off your perch. Why not this weekend?
And wasn't it USA today that showed they had revenue that exceeded a lot of FBS schools? If they move up great, makes beating them this year that much more important
To quote Ray Tate, they better tie their helmets on. We better come prepared to play. This will be a hard fought physical game.
Speaking of the running game, I liked the way Goodall hit the holes last week. No hesitation or unnecessary steps in the backfield, which is important when you have an o line not getting a ton of push. If we get a little running game going, things should open up for Kyle. Beat the Pukes.
I believe the key to the game on offense will be Xavier and Kyle running the football. If JMU has to respect our run game, our receivers will get one on one match ups, and I will take our receivers vs. any DBs in the country.
I look forward to the game tomorrow. It has a similar feel to the one in 2015.
And I have a feeling it will have a similar outcome!!!! Looking forward to hearing the traffic on I-81 while walking out the stadium.
Defense is finding its groove, and the offense has figured out how to take advantage of what the defense is giving them.

Afraid it's not going to be pretty tomorrow. They will lose sometime, but it's not happening against us.
I was planning on going to this game in the preseason but I don't feel like wasting a 2 hour trip up to chickentown to see us lose. If we do pull of the improbable tomorrow I will get a pledge to drive me up to Harrisonburg and raise hell after the game. Good God Almighty I hope that happens.
This has the potential to be the worst weekend EVER for combination Spider football/basketball..........
May be if the Ying and Yang, or whatever that nonsense is called, is in balance we're over due for a good out come.
