Its Official : Rocco has gone to Delaware

Because we won a national championship before Rocco. Obviously you can win here. We don't know the whole story, but I don't remember other UR football coaches whining like he did.

Other UR football coaches didn't have Gill as an AD, either.

"I want to make one thing perfectly clear. Chrissi said that this was a great day for Delaware football. She got it wrong. It's a great day for me."

I watched too. Said he decided at 6:04pm on Monday. So the quote yesterday morning that he had not decided yet was untrue.

The 604 comment was a CYA I now believe this has been done for about two weeks
I'm excited about our future, we have talent and lots of it!

well 70, we had Frank Jones who led us to two bowl games and a top 20 ranking when there was no D1, DAA, all teams were D1. there was Reid who was a class act, got us beating w&m again and won conf championships and into the playoffs, there was Clawson who was just great and if he had remained, probably would have smoked the DR numbers you are giddy with, there was London who won a national championship and what 11 or 12 games the next season and if Russ had still been there, no doubt another national championship. we have had some very good coaches, DR is among them but that is about all.

Wup, wup, wup. Chickens? Chickens? Nobody told me the mascot was chickens. Please don't tell me their color is yellow. Chickens??

Took this from an interview Danny did today....
"
“I looked at the culture,” Rocco said Wednesday. “I saw the tailgating. I saw the band. I saw the energy in the stadium — the students, the alumni.

“And I said ‘That’s what I want.’ Now I have the opportunity to embrace that.”

The UD football kingdom, frayed and tarnished as it may appear, now belongs to Rocco, named the Blue Hens’ new coach Tuesday and introduced Wednesday.

“It became so clear to us that Danny Rocco was the right man for Delaware,” athletic director Chrissi Rawak said. “ . . . At the end of the day what really sold us was that this is a man of principle. This is a man of integrity that leads people.”

Rocco left Delaware’s Colonial Athletic Association football rival Richmond, admitting he may have led the Spiders as far as he could."

Really.......hmmm well I think think we are going to go farther and. certianly farther than Delaware ....to DR..... be careful for what you wish for

^^Thanks for finding that. I hope you don't mind that i found it worthy of a thread for itself.
